Awesome spot

Awesome place. Decently far off the main road so it's quiet. Probably the biggest spots to camp I've ever seen gives you the feel of basically being way off the beaten path. Also the lumber river access is ideal to kayak and fish. The park rangers and maintenance people were chill and friendly.…

Loved This Place!

Great place for family entertainment. Kids of 10, 8, and 5 and all had a blast. We stayed during a storm and the camp staff adjusted their events to focus on indoor entertainment for the families. Wonderful.

Laser Tag. Splash pad. Water slides. Indoor and outdoor pool. Playgrounds. Dog parks.…

Family Fun Camping!

This campground is perfect for families! Had a blast with all my young cousins participating in all the daily activities. Highlight of the trip was one of the bears Cindy riding around on a fire truck. Sites are very nice! Concert pads, full hook-ups. They even have family quad sites that seemed…

Hidden gem

Extra large and private campsites. One of the campsites has a hammock stand. The group site is huge. The whole park is very clean and spacious.

Clean, beautiful and river-accessible!

This was a great campground for a great price. There was a path walkable to the river, and each campsite was clean, had plenty of space on level ground to set up camp, a fire pit, and very clean toilet. I would definitely go back!

Spacious Sites

This campsite doesn’t seem to be too popular which is fine. The tent sites are some of the better spread out ones that I’ve seen and having cell coverage is immensely appreciated considering you’re basically in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful hikes around the river right next door.

Good primitive camping

Stayed this weekend and had a good time. The area is clean and well maintained. There is a lot of wood to gather for your fire but if you want to buy firewood then you’ll have to drive to the speedway about 10 minutes down the road. Once we arrived, the ranger came by and greeted us and gave us the…

Lumber River Chalk Banks

Pretty nice campground right off of hwy 401, just south of Raeford NC. There is a pit toilet and water spigot. There are no showers here. The Lumber River is right here, so fishing and canoeing/kayaking are popular activities. There is a hiking trail here as well.

The right hand side of the…

Here We Go to Daddy Joe’s

We were delighted to find beautiful scenery, friendly staff and a comfortable campsite that included a picnic table and fire pit. Daddy Joe’s is an awesome place to bring the kiddos. Enjoyed staying here for years, but this weekend was less than memorable...

I've had many good memories here, sad to see Ben Hardy not there anymore, he always went above and beyond to make your stay pleasant, most recently the mens bathroom was smelly, shower area very dirty, and no toilet tissue available, trash cans were over full there was paper towels all over the…
