Loved this campground.

We stayed at J.C Cooper Campground at Satterwhite Point Area 2.

The site was near the water with very nice lake views right from the tent.

Great for swimming, kayaking, SUP, and other water activities.

The nearest grocery store (Food Lion) was about 15 minutes drive from our…

Nice spot on NC/VA Border

I've only camped here twice, both times on Memorial Day weekend. Our campground was in the JC Cooper campground area. I think that this isn't fair to this campground because each time its just been too dang busy. I assume that on a non holiday weekend it wouldn't be nearly as bad as when I've been.…

Perfect weekend getaway!

This was my first time ever visiting Eno River State Park. My partner and I camped at Fanny’s Ford at one of the primitive sites. The sites are well spaced but not a lot of privacy. We didn’t mind and everyone was cordial. On Friday there were a few logs left for campers at the entrance to the…

Great for families

We camped with a few other families at the group camp site. It was lovely. Great shade and perfect water for kids, the red mud is so much easier to wash off than sand! Bugs weren’t too bad. The electrical outlet was only in the bathroom which was a challenge but clean water was accessible all…

Fishing

Being from Missouri and moved to North Carolina I spent a week here and it has been so far one of the best places for fishing.

Huge Lake, nice sites

We visited Kerr Lake State Rec Area, JC Cooper Campground, Loop 1, at Satterwhite Point in April and it was fully booked for the weekend.  The sites are beautiful. Many have direct views of Kerr Lake. Water and electric were good, maintenance was good.  There are State Park quality toilets and…

IDA (IDSP) The Stars Come Out at Night

My gkids and I stayed here one night because they wanted to earn a winter camping badge and it was so worth it! We were there on a beautiful chilly clear night and the sky and stars were amazing! If you love stargazing this is the park for you. It is an International Dark Sky Park. There is a…

Starry skies!

We got a non-electric site and in November is was in the 30's at night - pretty cold for tent camping! But we bundled up and made lots of fires! Fire wood is available at the visitors center for a fee. The campsites come with a fire ring, picnic table, room for two cars. We have a pretty large tent…

Great Place!

Spent 2 nights out there last weekend. Had a great time. Nice moderate hike to the site. Chilly weekend so it was just me out there at night! Loved it!!

So thankful for this local treasure!

We hike and swim Eno nearly weekly and are so thankful this resource is so close to us! We also backpack into the primitive sites frequently. We love the trails. The sites are always clean. The primitive sites are spaces far enough apart that it truly feels like solitude. Piper Creek is our…

So green! Gorgeous River!

This is one of my favorite camping spots in the North Carolina triangle area.  There is a tremendous amount of hiking and trails to do around here.  The Eno River is more than safe to swim or paddle in.  Dogs are welcome here! If you can camp close to the river, I recommend, it's great to fall…

Beautiful, Spread-out campsites

Eno River State Park has amazing backpack in camping that is well worth the beautiful walk through the woods. The last trip here was so wonderful that we extended it by two nights!

I’ve camped here numerous times, at different sites each time and have not had a bad experience yet. The hike to…

Beautiful views

We stayed at site 21 on the satterwater loop. It was a little steep for a roof top tent but we made do backing the truck in! The water was shockingly warm for October and the kids got their feet in! Highly recommend this area for families. A large field for the kids to run around play catch and a…
