Great Location, Solid Amenities

Or site was large enough for two double tents, a hammock, and 2 vehicles. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. The office sells firewood. Both bath houses were adequate, even containing shampoo and body wash. Staff was friendly. Some if the sites are rather close to each other, and the…

Great location, friendly customer service, solid amenities

I agree with some other reviewers that the proximity to the road does detract a little bit. But at night time when you're sleeping it doesn't seem to be much of a problem, though a white noise app on your phone would help.

My site was large enough for two double tents, a hammock, and if needed,…

Beautiful, serene, spectacular views

We loved our short stay just after Labor Day weekend, despite heavy rains. The lake view and wooded sites offer enough variety for every style of camping with one consistent plus: that view. Rain or shine, it was breathtaking. Peaceful, relatively private sites are well maintained and…

Great Campground, Full Amenities

Spent 3 days, 2 nights here from a Wednesday-Friday. Very large and busy campground, close to Lake Placid and other cool activities to take in. Pros- hot showers, convenient laundromat, you are guided to your site by staff on golf carts. Cons- tent sites aren’t given much privacy, on the days we…

Not great

We camp at a lot of campgrounds. This one is fairly mediocre. It's not terrible. But it's expensive, the facilities aren't very nice and need updating, it has dusty dirt roads (no gravel), and the sites are close together and offer no privacy. A positive is that all the sites are well shaded.…

Perfect location and quiet

No noisy neighbors even on a Saturday night. Great cell reception with Verizon; what more do you need. Yes, there is road noise. Trade off for the closeness to ADK trailheads.

Just okay…

Wifi at campsite was inconsistent and unreliable. Had to work from rec center and pool which was ok but not what we were told.

Reliable KOA

Another KOA that’s reliably good. Very big, very full campground, but the tent sites are nicely dispersed

Great place

It’s split into 2 sides. The west side is way cooler, less bugs and more views. The east side is RV/camper heaven.

Peaceful, beautiful wooded private sites

My husband candy I went for work. Stayed there from Sunday through Thursday’s. First booked a site without electric. YES THEY HAVE 3 loops with electric. While driving there I took a peak online to find that they had one site that had come available with electric. We immediately called and…

One of my favorite parks ever. Absolutely perfect. Water views, cheap good firewood, big private sites and brand new bathhouses.

Thumbs up for Buck Pond

We pulled in on a Sunday afternoon with no reservations. We wanted 2 nights and had no issue getting a site. Campground was fairly quiet although probably 3/4 or more full. I lost my engagement ring in a walking trail and a week later received a call a ranger found it on the heavily trafficked…

Nice campground

We’ve stayed here once before and returned because of the beautiful location. The bathhouses are clean, private and conveniently located. We biked to local restaurants and the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge.

Great spot amongst the Adirondacks

We had a full hookup, pull through site surrounded by trees. There was some road noise during the day but it was nice and quiet at night. The bathhouses looked very "rustic" but we didn't use them. Nice field, swings and small palyground for kids. Close to hiking and Lake Placid!
