Very Busy! Close quarters! Can be loud and neighbors are ignorant of rules

Stayed at this campground this past weekend and yes it was a long weekend so the campground was packed. All the camping spots are pretty much right next to each one with hardly any space, packed like Sardines. Neighbors are loud and some of them are ignorant of the park rules. Staying on the phones in the middle of the night while talking so loud that all camping neighbors can hear their whole story

Its a pity that they take a nice park and remove the fun out of camping.

However the walk to the beach area was very serene, especially early morning before sunrise and didn't feel like we live in dense suburbia and sunrise from the beach was worth the trip

Camp site itself was pretty flat, had a water station, bathrooms were well kept , no fire ring (BYOFP)

Camper glamping

Bathrooms and showers were a good size. Rangers were driving around often but hand no issues with drink in red cups. Site 130 was a camper we rented then I got 131 to have more room and had tents

Indian Island County Park Review

Nice location but previous campers did not clean up after their visit. Shore power was without any problems and park has clean heated bathroom and bike station near dump site.

Great Location, Beautiful Beach!

We had a great time at Indian Island, even if it was just for a short stay. The beach was within walking distance, lots of little trails, and plenty of activities for the whole family. The bathrooms were mostly clean, and the shower was hot. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the campsites don’t come with a fire ring. Not sure if this is because of maintenance, but it just wasn’t super apparent until we got there. We luckily had our camp stove and could make dinner on that, but a fire would’ve been nice that evening!

Great location, beautiful views

Wonderful weekend visit in the off season. Site was level, pretty spacious and easy to back into. Campsites are located close enough to the beach/marsh. Multiple playgrounds for the kids although they were closed due to Covid. No sewers sites that I could tell, and water was off because we were a week shy of the season opening. Needed to move to dump station prior to leaving (2 night visit) and had to drive to fill the fresh water tank once while there. Nice neighbors. Dog friendly. People obeyed the quiet hours. I have not one complaint. There were hiking trails and geocaching on site. 4 stars bc no sewer at the campsite and we like full hook ups and honestly I’m guessing this is a county rule but the playgrounds could’ve been open. Outside and socially distanced after dealing with Covid for a whole year and most local parks and playgrounds being open since last May... that was upsetting. All in all we had a great weekend. Close to the LI aquarium as well! Many stores and a golf course near by too!

Awesome beach!

The facilities were clean and more than adequate. The beaches, picnic areas and hiking trails were clean and clearly marked.

Very easy going and nice spot

It’s nice for kids they have an open field with a playground for kids. There are dog friendly which was very nice. It is a lil tight from each site but you have the beach and a little hiking trails that makes it worth it.

Good park close to home

This is not our ideal campground. We usually like to be far from people with minimal neighbors, but living on L I, your options are limited. That said, the sites close to water are nice. They offer more to see and feel a little more like camping. There are sites with electric, water but those fill up fast.

You are a short walk from beach access and kayak launch. There is a playground for kids and clean facilities. I enjoy going here as it is easy for a quick weekend.
