Accessible via drive-in or boat access, Eighth Lake Campground operates from May through October with sites priced at $22 per night. This New York State Department of Environmental Conservation facility accommodates RVs up to 40 feet with electric, water, and sewer hookups available alongside a dump station.
The campground spans the area between Seventh and Eighth Lakes, with some sites offering direct waterfront access for launching canoes into lily pad-filled waters. Reviewers consistently note the forested terrain provides privacy between sites, while the sandy beach on Eighth Lake draws swimmers. Multiple bathhouses serve the property, and campers report the grounds stay well-maintained with detailed recycling facilities at the entrance.
"Campground spans an area between two lovely lakes - Seventh and Eighth," notes Monica F., who also mentions occasional road noise from Route 28. Hiking and biking trails connect to Bug Lake and Eagles Nest Pond. Cell service remains spotty throughout the campground but strengthens in nearby Inlet for supplies. Several reviewers mention bear sightings in the area.
The rough access road and proximity to Brown Tract Pond Campground make this location suitable for campers seeking lake access with full hookups who don't mind limited connectivity.
