Hickories Park Campground

Operated by the Town of Owego, this first-come, first-served campground sits directly off Route I-86 with convenient highway access. The facility provides both RV sites with hookups and tent camping areas, plus shower facilities and a ranger station for check-in during regular hours.

Several campsites position right along the Susquehanna River, offering direct water access for fishing and kayaking. Amber A. notes "lovely but simple views all around and rolling green hills in the distance." The campground shares space with active day-use facilities including soccer fields and a playground, creating a busier atmosphere during peak hours. Train noise carries from nearby tracks, though riverside sites experience less of this disturbance.

The park includes an on-site dog park, though some campers report barking can be noticeable from certain sites. Road noise from Route 17C affects some areas. Open grass sites provide ample space for families, and the facility stays well-maintained with clean restrooms. Late arrivals can typically find available spots and handle registration the following morning.

For campers wanting more secluded options, Pine Valley RV Park & Campground offers an alternative eight miles northeast.

Many campers appreciated the spacious, well-maintained sites and family-friendly amenities including playgrounds and RV hookups. Road noise from nearby highways was commonly noted, though riverside sites offer quieter options.

Nicely kept

Green grass perfect space for kids to play. Came in late, got a spot and took care of everything in the morning. Fall is a very pretty time up here.

excellent

i pulled in at about 6pm mid week, the ranger station was closed

drove around & found tent site 79 open, it's next to the river.

I was able to pull directly into the camp site,

the campground is well maintained, the porta potty in the tent area was very clean, i felt very safe

the only draw back to this campground is the close proximity of the noisy highway but great for a one night stay or longer if you're accustom to the noise

Serenity next to the river

It is a very nice open area to camp in. It is a first come first serve campground. The dog park is a great addition to the park. There is always something going on. Also allows for an easy place right off Route I-86 to rest while driving across MY. Some of the best river access there is to paddle through a great small town.

Quaint NY/PA border town

The park itself is pretty small but it’s in a really cute area with a lot of outdoor recreational activities. Lovely but simple views all around and rolling green hills in the distance. Campground is well-kept and relatively modern but not particularly memorable. Nice little stopover on a road trip. Lots of day use activity. Dog park is kind of annoying with all the barking and owners shouting futile commands, try to camp away from it. Ditto for train noise, stay by the river. It does what it does well, so five stars!

Wonderful!

This place is an excellent place to take your family it's got hookups and plenty of space for your RV and it also has showers which makes it great for my family members who don't actually like to go camping haha it is just great all-around fun for the family

Great Little Gem

This is a very quiet place, it seemed like many folks here are retired, taking their RVs and staying for a little while at a time. The river is very close, some campsites are right on the river. There are facilities, and the park has a playground and many soccer fields.
