Beautiful views and peaceful stay

Came into the park late Saturday afternoon. All hookup spots were taken but dry camping is no issue for us. Utilized the overflow camping area. Great hikes and found nearby atv trails for our side by side. Much needed weekend getaway!

This'll do in a pinch....not bad, not great.

After a long, hot, WINDY ride down the ET Highway, I was ready for a stop.  I found this place via The Dyrt.  A bit difficult to find the actual entrance, to the north of the camps.  The Visitor Center, to the south, was closed.  The camps are rather exposed, but right on the water's edge.  Most…

Hidden gem

It’s about a 2 and a half 3 hour drive outside of Vegas depending on how fast you’re going. If you drive past the sign, you missed it! You pull in off the highway and just pick a spot. I’ve been here 3 maybe 4 times. This is the first time I wasn’t alone, but there was enough distance between the…

Couldn’t believe how gorgeous...

Absolutely stunning it’s a tiny state park but worth the trip. Holy cow trees, grass, playground for kids, camping, tables, flowers, grills, trails, bathrooms. What an incredible place. We had an amazing lunch under the trees inside the coolness of this place. The campgrounds are standard desert…

Quiet, Beautiful Get Away in

Stayed for a couple of nights in April 2021. The campsite is pretty small and also popular, so get there early! We'd gotten some advice to arrive between 9:00 and 11:00 AM. Turned out to be great advice! We arrived at 10:30 and had several sites from which to choose. It wasn't long after we set up…

Great Campground for stopover between UT/CO and NV/CA

We only camped one night (a few years ago). There aren't really any trees, and the only reason for 4 stars. BUT, relaxing and adequately spaced & right near the Virgin River.

Call the park service before you go

The road into the park can get very muddy. My family and I got stuck on the road and had to camp on the side of the road. There is no cell service. It is not a well traveled road but a park ranger did come by the next day and he was extremely nice. He suggested that when the road dried to move into…

Free and remote

Free dispersed but only in designated areas per the blm map. Sites are on grazing lands but Joshua trees are scattered around. Cell on att and Tmobile 2 bars lte but verizon had no data, at least for me. Two bars due to trashy sites and beaten down vegetation

  • Sign at so end of old hwy 91 and Utah border
  • Vegetation view
  • Old hwy 91 had fresh chipseal recently

Great BLM site

We looked for a last minute camping spot as we went from LA to Colorado and came across this spot. It was free and pet friendly and right next to the lake which made for a beautiful sunset. The only downside is that you do hear quite a bit of traffic driving past since it’s right next to the road…

Stunning Area
