Best Campgrounds in Missouri

Nice campground and great staff. Trains nearby can be load with their horns but it's close to airport which was necessity for me.

Both RV Life Trip Wizard navigation and GPS took us to Campground Rd where there were signs to the camping area. The check in area at this county campground (CG) was a little tight but doable with our 40’ 5th wheel and F450 truck. We proceeded to back-in site 29 with FHUs. The road area was wide, so we had no issues backing into the site. The utilities were place middle-back on the site and we had no problems reaching. The site slopes to the passenger side and down hill to the road, so we used a few levelers. Space between sites varies within the CG. Our site was very close to 30 but we were on the end with a nice yard. Water pressure was decent. There’s no Wifi in the CG. We got 3 bars on both Verizon and T-Mobile. There are mature trees here, but most sites except a few north perimeter would have a shot for satellite. The bathhouse was newer and in good condition plus there’s a laundry in one of the restroom buildings. This CG is a good option as it's just east of Kansas City. Nice little camp spots. No amenities available. But there are actually two locations to camp there are multiple camp spots near the entrance, and also more if you drive down to the boat ramp, there are a few around there also.

Wonderful 'Ma & Pa' hosts! Very sweet people. This camp is on a hillside that is terraced at each site. Nice & quiet for the most part. There are several permanent residences here, some working on vehicles & such in the late afternoon & evening, sometimes a bit loud and/or noisy. After dark, everything was quiet.

Spent two weeks totally submersed in nature. Had to scope out the area to find a suitable spot to set up camp. Found a spot previously used, but you might prefer finding a spot and starting from the ground up. Only draw back is the Columbia Regional Airport is about 4-5 miles from this location. There is air traffic overhead. Columbia airport is rather small so other than rotary wing aircraft (helicopters) from the hospital, it's not to bad.

I arrived at the site in April of 2025, and was greeted with a locked gate and signage stating rates are $15 per night. Envelopes and lock box are in place. Beautiful campground with plenty of freshly cut firewood. Excellent spot for overnight or weekends with the family.

Has everything you need. Even got a hot shower while tent camping

The road to get there isn't a road so much as a ATV trail. All wheel drive and it was too hard on my Subaru. Mostly washed out

3 camp sites with picnic table and fire pit, vault bathroom within walking distance.

Amazing camp ground, we got the best spot right on the water. It was quiet and relaxing. Plenty of downed wood for a fire. Great spot to put in kayaks. Managed to catch one fish! My only complaint is the bathroom was locked, definitely didn’t play on having to pee outside.

Just 30 minutes to downtown Kansas City and maybe 15 minutes to arrowhead stadium, this campground is ideal for being close to everything that Kansas City offers. Full hook ups, concrete pads, showers and laundry.

Great little spot right in downtown Indep. Only drawback is all the sirens, all night and day. And the manager of the campground is fairly rude. He has asked me no less than three times what I was doing here. Been here over a month and he still stops me every chance he can to ask why I’m here…other than those two things it’s a great little place!

This is a city park with a mile walking loop, playgrounds, bathrooms, a couple spots with RV power hookups, and a dump station. The first night is free and then it's $20/night up to 7 nights in a thirty day window. It is right by the train tracks, but we were able to sleep through once we fell asleep.

When you cross the train tracks, turn right and the RV park is passed the aquatic center. There are about 7 spots, at least 3 with electric hookup. First come, first served and you call the number on the sign to register.

Fairly nice conservation area, about 10 camping sites with picnic tables and fire rings, vault bathrooms aren’t very clean but over all a decent getaway.
