Stay here every year

This year we stayed at spot 169 over looking the lake and it is everything you look for in a camp site..lots of room, a short walk to the water and a nice patch of woods behind the site! The site also is shaded most of the day making it very comfortable!!! Short walk to the bathrooms and showers…

Beautiful

The coordinates take you to one of the first campsites but if you keep going down the road you'll find many more. I suggest parking on the road and walking in to the campsite to see if it will fit your needs before driving in.

Sycamore trail

The fire tower is the trail head for a hiking only loop called the sycamore trail. It’s not very long but follows a small creek and has some elevation changes

Multiple trips here a year

LOVE this trail. Just challenging enough to make it worth it. Campsites I’ve great fire pits. Only downside is the drunk boat people that show up in the summer.

Quit place

Great quit place to rest up for a few nights. The site has a toilet and water. If you head into the town of Paoli be sure to hit up the farmers co-op for supplies.

Charlestown State Park, IN

We live locally and travel nationally.   Who would have believed this great park would be only 30 miles away.  The grounds are very clean and well maintained, the sites are very wide and individual with the landscaping aiding the feeling of "private".  There, of course, are never enough full…

Great family campground with plenty of amenities

Awesome campground... everything you want to do while on vacation with your family or kids. There are several fishing ponds and a lake with a beach area. There are 2 pools, and a golf course. Laundry facilities are decent, and there are plenty of machines. My one negative is the condition of the…

Great park

This is one of our favorite state parks in Indiana. The camp grounds are clean and for the most part quiet. There is easy access to the park. Overall great experience!

Relaxing Campsites on the Lake

On the peninsula trail, there are multiple campsites with fire rings but you may also camp anywhere if you are at least 100 ft from the water. Campsite #18 has a great view and is large enough for at least 4 tents if you have a big group.

Gorgeous park with plenty to do

Love this park! We have gone there many times when we wanted to visit the fair and Brown County . Really nice campsites to choose from and the sites are beautiful. It also has nice hiking, horse and mountain bike trails.

Great Hike & Campsites

This area is so beautiful! We visited during mid-April, perfect for finding morels. The trails are well paved and marked, not too strenuous. So many beautiful trees and plants to see, plus lots of creeks to walk through. There are an abundance of areas to set up a hammock. We enjoyed the sycamore…
