Camp Timber Lake

Dogs run freely through this lakefront campground on private property outside Huntington, though they cannot access the swimming beach. Camp Timber Lake positions most primitive sites directly on the water, with a zipline crossing overhead that sends riders soaring above certain camping spots during busy periods.

The small facility maintains full hookup pull-through sites for RVs up to 65 feet, though these spots offer little privacy and sit in full sun. Ashley J. notes that "everything was kept very clean," a sentiment echoed across reviews. Some primitive sites cluster too closely together, creating limited space between neighbors during peak times.

A swimming area and zipline provide on-site recreation beyond the lake access that draws many visitors. The fall season brings colorful foliage around the water's edge. Campers seeking additional options can explore campgrounds around Roanoke or check nearby Kilsoquah Camp for different amenities.

Reservations help secure waterfront spots, especially during summer months when the zipline operates most frequently.

Campsites

The oweners are nice people. The camp ground is small and clean. There is pull through full hook up sites. But they are full sun and small sites. So no privacy.

Good campground

Campground is located on private property and all of the primitive spots are right on the lake or very close to it.

A few of them are a little too close together and there is a zipline that goes over a few of them so it can be a little strange with people flying over you on a busy day.

But overall, this is a great location and we will return!

First Time Camping—Successful

Escaped to this little place on the outskirts of Fort Wayne, Indiana and it was absolutely worth it. Everyone was nice including the neighboring campers. Most importantly, everything was kept very clean. We loved the fact that fur babies are allowed in. However, they are not allowed in the water or near the beach. Next time we will have to try the zip-lines! We definitely will be repeat campers❤️.
