This camp ground is under new management and a hidden gem.

In the last year, this campground has changed owners so we gave it a chance and it did not disappoint. A LOT of work had been done. All the outer loop sites are shaded and nicely spaced. Nice putt-putt course and they are finishing up a facelift on the inground pool.  The inner loop has full…

The only spots you can reserve are non electric which is what we got and still had a nice time in our pop up camper..The camp ground does have electric sites but it’s first come first serve!!! The camp ground has nice…

Great Family or Solo Trip

Great camp! Covered with trees with great spots near the creek. Great prices on cabins and campers. Playground for the kiddos was a plus for us. Nice bathroom and shower facilities.

Beautiful

The coordinates take you to one of the first campsites but if you keep going down the road you'll find many more. I suggest parking on the road and walking in to the campsite to see if it will fit your needs before driving in.

Shakamak State Park

A little known State Park.. Campground was awesome. Large sites, lots of outside activities, and great camp hosts. Will definitely be back. The park is making several upgrades should be an even better place on next visit.

Sycamore trail

The fire tower is the trail head for a hiking only loop called the sycamore trail. It’s not very long but follows a small creek and has some elevation changes

Large open field. Can be crowded.

I hope you like horses. I was backpacking and got to experience horse camps up close and personal. There are basic toilets and a pavilion. Rest is an empty grass field.

Quit place

Great quit place to rest up for a few nights. The site has a toilet and water. If you head into the town of Paoli be sure to hit up the farmers co-op for supplies.

Would live here

The people are wonderful. The sights are gorgeous. Many things to do for family or just a couple. But if you plan to do your laundry make sure the dryer actually dries. That's the only complaint.

Would not visit again

There was literally only one hot shower and not in the area we were in. They were there johnny on the spot to complain about the littlest thing but never there to fix anything major, like hot water or removing the critters that apparently lived in the bathroom. But it was beautiful. The beauty of…
