Beautiful campground

We spent one night in a non waterfront site. Still had a great view of the lake. Clean restrooms and hot showers. Pay cash it check only. Call in advance for reservations and to confirm availability. I grew up in the area and have been to Lake Jackson many times as a kid. Nice walking trail around…

Great Little Campground

I stayed here for 8 weeks while travel nursing at a local hospital. I had previously moved from another campground I did not feel safe at. Boy was this place a breath of fresh air! The staff was very nice and accommodating! They patrolled the grounds on golf carts frequently. There are only two…

Not what we exspected

We stayed in the Antioch loop on site 93. The site was super close to 92 and 94. We felt we had no personal space. A couple kept walking through our campsite to get to a boat they had parked at our site. I love rustic but Antioch was not rustic, it was over grown and did not look maintained. We…

Gorgeous but mosquitos gorged on us BRING DEET

Would give 5 stars if not for mosquitos and no-see-ums that came right through our RV screens. Even repellent didn't seem to stop them from biting on one particular evening, but the second day was better. We could see the lake from our site, which had full hook-ups even tho' sewer hook up wasn't…

Very relaxing and shadybon Antioch Loop.

This campground has 2 loops.  Catoma which has concrete pads and some shade.  Antioch is gravel pads but very shady!!!!  It's more close to nature!!!  I highly recommend the Antioch Loop!!!

  • Campsite 132 on Antioch Loop. Was a long site and very shady!!!
  • The Bamboo Park wasn't very far away and so unique.

Best little Jem around

Adorable little find! We’ve really enjoyed our stay here, as you can see our rig was in site #7 right at the docks. We put our kayaks in and paddled, we enjoyed sunsets by the lake in our hammocks, and we fished. Also it’s connected to the walking trail of Florala state park which has a swimming…

Clean and spacious

The park is quite with widely spaced sites. Most sites are about 90 feet apart. One section has FHU’s. Wooded area so satellite TV will be challenging in summer, but park is close to Montgomery so over-the-air stations are plentiful. Many sites are on the water and can fish from the bank. Park is…

Love this place, but cell coverage spotty

This is always our go-to place to stop at when in the area. Lovely rustic campground divided into two distinct loops, one feels like it’s from the 70’s ( w&e, no sewer) and the newer side that has full hookups for an additional $4 a day. Last time I was using ATT, and coverage was fair. This…

Clean, quiet and nice setting

Good, level spots. Well-spaced but not private.

About 50% full on the night we stayed and lots of really nice camping rigs. Saw no tents except ours (roof top tent).

Dollar General near the entrance and only about 20 minutes from Montgomery.

Couple of nice playgrounds for kids to run off…

Nice site with full hookups

Gunter Hill was a nice COE campground. We had site 32 in the Catoma Loop (only loop open - we stayed at the end of January for one night). The sites are level and had full hookups. Our site had a good view of the lake, but I’m not sure you’d have that view once trees and underbrush have full…

Not much here, but nice

Nice level concrete pads. Space between sites. Friendly people. Nice playground. Rustic pond with ducks. But, No shade at most sites. Nothing really to do except the playground. Right next to a junkyard. WiFi was overwhelmed and unusable.

Peaceful & Beautiful

Gunter Hill is a gem of a campground! Sites are spacious, long, and paved with full hookups. We were on the lake in site 28. The bathrooms & showers are older but adequate. Wished we could have stayed more than one night.
