Great campground with many sites right on the lake. A place to swim and kayak. Great hiking trails - we chose the one with multiple water crossings. No hook ups but that’s ok with us. Very out of the way so take everything you need. Beautiful drive there too.
This place is amazing. I could stay here every weekend and not get tired of it. Warm water, fresh air, no service.

This was our first camping trip to actually visit lake Moomaw in Warm Springs Virginia. We had been close before but never made it to the lake itself.
First off, sorry for the audio on the video we uploaded. It seems in March of 2021 I was diagnosed with having lung cancer and it is pinching the…
Lot's to do here when it's up and running -- sort of a bring-the-whole-family place. Campground is quiet and clean; hot showers blissful. Short drive to Sandstone Falls, which are stunning.
This place is definitely a gem. Wide open space flat well maintained pads clean bathrooms and showers. Excellent fishing no full time residents.
Hosts were friendly and attentive. Site was spacious and pleasantly situated for our 17' travel trailer. Clean bathrooms and shower. Lots of poison ivy and amazing wildflowers on the 4-5 mile loop trail that started near the back of the campground.
I’ve stayed here in a tent and a camper. I’ve also stayed in the cabins. We love this park so much. The river is beautiful, the hiking excellent, and the fantastic rail trail is right there. The area has so much to offer - Bear Town, Cranberry, Falls - it’s all wild wonderful West Virginia!!
Douthat State Park has a lot of different trails for both hikers and mountain bikers. It's a great place to set up base camp and go out and explore during the day. The facilities are on par with other VA state parks. The bathrooms and showers are well maintained, but aren't anything fancy. There…
This campground is super popular, and for good reason. Lake Moomaw is beautiful! There are also trails nearby, so it's a great spot for paddling or hiking. We also saw a number of groups tubing/floating on the lake. The campground was nearly full, but it was still quiet throughout the weekend. The…
very very beautiful view, BUT everyone was VERY disrespectful. it says zero dollars a night and they told us we were stealing electricity for our bus?. they said that it was a $500 a month type of place, so if you don’t have that drive up to the next spot. all of my neighbors were rude and tweaking…
The hill to climb to get there is SUPER sketchy but it’s a gorgeous location. If you want to go ride dirt bikes or UTVs this place is definitely the spot. The staff are excellent, they brought us firewood in the rain and stayed to chat with us for a bit. Dogs are allowed, in fact, the owners have a…

Our first trip to this area and we weren't disappointed. Wonderful country and scenery. Great campgrounds, spacious, bit aa bit tight to back into with soft shoulders to the road. Clean bathrooms and trash cans are plentiful. Walking trails to the lake and what a lake! We shall return at some point…

I'll update and write a full review after we stay in July. Called for reservation, owner super nice guy.
Beautiful quiet campground! Lots to do in hidden Valley.
My grandparents were the camp hosts at this campground for over 10 years so I practically grew up here. It is beautifully tucked in the mountains. No cellphone service, 21 rustic sites (no water/electric), but full of adventure. The bath/shower house is always well kept. There are hiking trails, a…
