Army camp

Was okay, didn't end up staying due to limited spots available. Close to water, sites are wooded. There are 10 drive up sites and 6 walk in sites.

Away but close

This site is tied to the hotel and you must park at hotel prior to entry. There are pull-in sites with full site hook ups at location. The views once hooked up are gorgeous but this is a tight fit especially for those with slides.

Not bad

Great Campground, for tent campers there are vaulted toilets that are normally clean! We have returned here year after year. The upper sites you can get a faint ATT signal. The only downside is that during peak times( holidays etc) there were a bunch of sites with generators running all night…

I’ll be coming back .

Nice, at the lake but not on the lake. There’s no swimming. No reservations. Friendly staff, nice sites, 54 full hook up, 6 no hookups

Quiet mountainside camping

Great little campground in the middle of WV. Just off Highway 79 but far enough away you feel like you are in the wilderness. The campground has 4 distinct areas for rigs which keeps it from feeling it is a RV parking lot. Most sites are pull through with full hook ups. You check in at the hotel…

Terrible for large Campers

The GPS led us up a gravel road with no signs for miles. Internet and cell service cut out within a mile up that road and we were not sure we were going the right way. The sights are on top of windy uphill mountain roads which we now call death mountain. Upon arriving, no one was as the visitors…

Nice free spot on the river!

It's hard to beat a free campsite right on the river.

Got lucky to find a site here after trying both Grandview Sandbar and Glade's Creek on the other side of the road.

No AT&T service so I only stayed two nights (gotta work during the week!).

Still, it wasn't crowded and I enjoyed evening…

Very new

Staying in section 2. It looks to be very new. Fresh gravel at every site and the road. sites are very big and spaced far apart from your neighbor. Also has many pull thru sites.

Free!

Loud road noise, but for free electric hookup, it’s worth it.

Great Campsite

Literally the only downside to this spot was no cell phone reception for my niece and nephews to contact there parents and let them know how things were going. There was plenty of space for the kids to run around without disturbing anyone. And the sites were nicely spaced with plenty of wooded…

Secluded, woodsy

This is my fiance and I's favorite spot. The tent area I stay in Is very spacious and often you cant see any neighbors unless traveling to the shower house, with regular toilets electric and more. If you need amenities like a shower but like a private, primitive, woodsy feel this is the place. …

Small, simple, right by the river

I stayed 3 nights, and first two were fantastic. On the 3rd night a vehicle parked in the boat ramp lot and blasted music started at 2am, lots of yelling. I heard from several people that the walk-in spots can get pretty rowdy with locals. The pull-in spots were fine. Picnic table, fire ring,…

Off the beaten path but worth it

There are only six drive up primitive sites, and if you can nab one on a weekend consider yourself fortunate. Also available are walk up sites, and in a pinch you can park your camper van in the boat launch parking lot overnight (which we did without problem until a site opened up) Spacious and…

Pretty

Very pretty area! The sites are all located along a winding road that parallels a river. Some sites are better than others! Our site was very hilly and the picnic table and fire pit were a bit treacherous to get to. Don’t stay in 35 with a tent or mobility issues. We happened to stay on a day that…

Limited Space but Nice

Beautiful but small campground. There are probably only 10 spaces, one is handicap only. Spaces are relatively close together and the drive down the valley to it is relatively steep - our sprinter van still made it. If the camping areas are full you could stay in the adjacent parking lot beside the…
