Divided into nine sections named after nearby cities and towns, the Natchez Trace is the ideal place to explore Mississippi’s Native American history. Pharr Mounds, located on the Tishomingo-Belmont section of the Natchez Trace, is an ancient burial ground used by nomadic tribes between 100 and 1200 A.D.  Another section—Donivan Slough—displays the wonders of Mississippi’s tulip poplars, sycamores and water oaks among the state’s swampy bottomlands.

Clear Creek Campground is nestled in the forests surrounding Sardis Lake. It is conveniently located within 15 minutes of Oxford, MS. Clear Creek campground offers close access to mountain biking, boating, and picnicking at Sardis Lake. 

## Recreation

Sardis Lake offers an array of recreational activities, including fishing, boating, water skiing and swimming. A scenic trail near the campground offers great hiking and biking opportunities.  
  
  


## Facilities

Clear Creek Campground offers 19 open sites with electric and water hookups. Flush toilets, showers and drinking water are provided. 

## Natural Features

Sardis Lake covers over 98,000 acres in the rolling hills of northwest Mississippi. The man-made lake sits on the Tallahatchie River at an approximate elevation of 400 feet. The campground is forested with bottomland hardwoods. 

## Nearby Attractions

The John W. Kyle State Park, across the lake from Clear Creek, offers a swimming pool, golf course and recreation hall. Just east of Sardis Lake is Holly Springs National Forest, where wildlife viewing is a popular activity.

Located on scenic Sardis Reservoir just one hour from Memphis, John W. Kyle State Park offers a wide array of recreational opportunities in an area abundant in natural beauty. The historic campus of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) is just 25 miles away, making John W. Kyle State Park the perfect spot to spend a football weekend. John Kyle State Park offers 200 sites available for developed camping. Sites feature picnic tables, grills, water and electrical hookups, bathhouses, laundry facilities, and a central sewage dumping station all conveniently located in the campground. Advance reservations are recommended and may be made up to 24-months in advance. Monthly camping may be available. Please check with the park office for availability.

Water Valley Landing is a quiet, family-oriented campground along the banks of Enid Lake in the forests of northeast Mississippi.

Enid Lake has been recognized as one of America's Top 10 Fishing Spots, with white crappie, bass and catfish available in abundance. The lake is the home of the world record white crappie, which weighed an impressive 5 pounds, 3 ounces. Fishing tournaments are held annually at the lake.   
  
Hiking trails wind along the lakeshore and throughout the surrounding landscape, offering hiking, biking and horseback riding opportunities.   
  
Boating is a popular pastime on the lake, and boat ramps are provided at the campground.

Water Valley Landing Campground offers 29 campsites, and modern amenities like full hookups and flush toilets are provided. A playground trail and interpretive trail offer additional recreation opportunities. Picnic areas complete with grills and tables make the area perfect for parties or family trips. 

## Natural Features

Enid Lake is part of a dam project on the Yocona River. The dam creates almost 16,000 acres of water for the millions of annual visitors to enjoy. An additional 44,000 acres of thick, green forests surrounding the lake offer countless recreational opportunities for campers, equestrians, hikers and more.
