Dispersed Camp Site #MSL-02

Part of the National Forest system, this dispersed camping site requires navigating a dirt road with ruts and occasional mud puddles to reach. Brandon W. notes that while he didn't need four-wheel drive, anything less capable than a Subaru might struggle with the terrain and hills along the access route.

The site features a large opening at the trail's end, though actual camping spots are limited to just one or two pull-off areas along the road. Chewalla Lake Recreation Area sits nearby for fishing access. The space works best for groups with multiple vehicles needing room to spread out or travelers passing through the area.

Good place for free

Once you turn off the main road it’s a dirt road with some ruts. It was wet when I came through a few mud puddles nothing serious. There are some good hills, although I didn’t have to put my truck in 4x4 I would suggest nothing less than a Subaru get back here!
There was a large opening at the end of the trail…even though onX offroad says there’s dispersed camping along this road there was 1 maybe 2 spots to just pull off and park! There’s the Chewalla Lake nearby! All in all not a terrible place for passing through or if you have multiple rigs needing space!
