Great family weekend

Our family of 5 (young kids) stayed for the weekend. A four day weekend would have been perfect. Our site was easy to get into and relatively easy to level. Full hookups. Activities included swimming, splash pad, hiking, disk golf, fishing, kayak rentals, and playgrounds. They are about to close the park for the season to renovate. All the pads are about to be concrete and I think they are fixing some of the space issues(some spots are currently tight to get into). We will be back next year.

Clarkco State Park

Great stay! Beautiful park with many amenities. Have premium sites with 50/30 amp sewer and water. Have lake front sites, pavilions, cabins, and “glamping” tent sites. There is also two roped off swimming areas in lake, playgrounds, and boat ramp. Facilities are well maintained. Very impressed and will stay again.

Woodsy state park with dispersed camping near a lake

State park near Alabama/Mississippi border. Nice park. Chose to do primitive camping for $15 plus tax, but they offer other options too. -dispersed camping -some sites near lake -mediocre fire pits -picnic table -quiet aside from other campers -other campers seem like they get kind of rowdy there, but this was also a holiday weekend -the sites aren’t numbered and are hard to find in the dark because the fire pits and picnic tables are randomly placed throughout the woods. It was like a treasure hunt to find them. -the amenities were far away which is why we’re giving it 4 stars.

Summer Stay at Favorite

This 12 acre lake is one of our favorite camping spots. They have a group of volunteers who have put a lot of work into making this a nice state park, and the people that work here are the best. We have a pull through facing the lake. Beautiful view. It is close to the swimming spot for the campers so can be a little noisy during the day, but we didn’t mind. Love the lake for kayaks and fishing. We find ourselves coming back here again and again.

Nice campground

We stayed at spot twenty. As mentioned in another review, the terrain is uneven but the pads are level asphalt. It is a busy campground but it is still quiet. There a few bathhouses and one has laundry machines. The rest rooms are clean every morning and are well taken care of ( some of the cleanest I have seen so far). There is a 65 acre lake with bass, bream, and catfish. Talk with the park rangers, the fish are finicky. They have a small water park for the kids and two pavilions. Great campground.

Beautiful nature, loud bugs at night

Very friendly staff. Beautiful camp site in deep forest with a gorgeous lake next to it. One heads up; it gets very loud at night in terms of the bugs! They're quite active there. Bring mosquito spray for sure.

Cutest little park

I picked this park as a stopover on our way to Georgia based on online pictures. We really loved it. The lake is beautiful and the surroundings make you feel like you’re much deeper in the woods than you are. The sites are a good size but some are quite angled and have a drop off from the pad. The rock fire rings are a nice touch. Dunn’s Mill and Stucky’s bridge are worth checking out if you have some time to go exploring.

Very Nice Campground

We stopped here on the way to the coast. It was a very nice campground with a small lake, lots of playground equipment, and hiking trails. Pads were level and shower houses were clean. We really enjoyed our stay on sites #17 & #38 going and returning.

A Hidden Gem

Great little lake with a beautiful view. Our Verizon Phone picked up well. Loved the hiking trails around the lake. Well maintained. We stayed on site 31, a pullthrough. Two fire pits and a very large area to play areound the camper. Not a lot of campers in the off season. Will definitely be back with kayaks. The other loop had a private swimming spot. How cool is that?

Nice small park, friendly staff and several trails to hike, some not on the

The campground is showing its age a bit, but is still nice and well maintained. We were in site 37 for 5 days, which was right across the road from one of the few street lights. The oneway campground loop is narrow, and a little tight in places for bigger rigs, but not too bad. Most of the sites in the loop we were in looked reasonably level, as was our site. Many of the sites in the other loop looked pretty unlevel. The campground was largely empty while we were there.

Be aware, there is no posted restriction that dogs be leashed in this park and we saw several being walked off leash. One of the staff’s dogs, we presume, was also wandering around loose by the office.

AT&T coverage was“fair”, generally with 1-2 Bars and up to~1 MB/s, but usually less than 0.4 MB/s. There is no WiFi, no cable, and no DISH satellite coverage at our site, on the lake, with a roof mounted dish, and no leaves on the trees. We were able to get 4 strong OTA DTV channels with our omni antenna however.

Meeting Quarantina, our gently used Flying Cloud 23

We met our camper (and her prior owner) here at ClarkCo State Park. A perfect place to be introduced to her, complete our purchase and get oriented to our new (to us) camper. Lake side, lots of tree coverage has helped the August 95degree MS temps. Friendly neighboring campers, lots of kids swimming and kayaking. We even took the time to walk a trail or two. Dog friendly, easy hook ups. Prefect first camping experience so far.

Clarkco Love ❤️

This is our second visit within a year to Clarkco. We’ve stayed on both loops. This time on loop 1 we were on site 4. It was tight to get into but had a lovely little land pier onto the lake. This is a very well kept park. The public facilities are very child friendly with a cool and colorful splash pad and cordoned off swimming area. Loop 1 also has a cordoned off swimming area. It’s truly a secret little gem hidden away. It is very quiet and each of the sites are large and private. The public restrooms and showers are extremely clean and well kept. Also they offer large pavilions for large group gatherings. Very dog friendly (we have 3) and the entire campground is respectful of quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. The Clarkco staff takes great pride in their facilities!! Thank you. You’ll fall in love with Clarkco too.

Small, nice campground

We had a group of is that came to Clarkco for Labor Day weekend. It was a medium sized campground d, with good activities.

We parked our skoolie in an RV spot. The non-premium RV spots are a little oddly set up and can seem cramped, but we enjoyed our spot. The lakeside premium spots are where we will park next time. The bathrooms were nice and they also have a laundromat

My husband and friends canoed/kayaked and enjoyed the lake. Not much luck fishing though. We went on a small trail as well.

Camp store is slowly being restored. Not many options, but they are actively trying to add more supplies.
