Camp site along the way

This campground we happened upon as we had been traveling all day and it was starting to get late. It’s located right off the main road. There are three parts to the camp ground we stayed in the first section. It was clean, well kept. Each site had food boxes, a fire ring, and picnic table. The…

Redwood haven

Redwoods…awesome, but solar panels can’t charge 🙃. Traffic noise from the road can be heard in every site. Showers were adequate and required $1/minute. You can reload your water tank here. Nice and cool/cold at night even in August. Cool in the shade all day.

Off the beaten track but nice, safe, clean. $8 a night or $4 if you have an interagency pass. Large vault toilets. No water. There's a general store ~10 minutes away if you drive towards Shelter Cove. Bring your bug spray! Pretty quiet during the week but it filled up by Saturday.  Solo female…

Oasis in the Redwoods

Just returned from a long 4th of July weekend(amid all of the C19 pandemic craziness) with our family of 4 and had an absolute great stay. If you've been dreaming about what it's like to live, camp and sleep underneath the tallest trees in the world, then this a great and convenient place to…

  • Spacious site #146 - perfect for our 12 person + 6 person tent. Great privacy here, complete with picnic table and fire ring (plus 2 friendly chipmunks and a clutch of blue birds) under the canopy of second generation Redwoods!
  • My wee littlest one standing atop a fellen wooden soldier that helped us cross the creek (for those less adventuresome, there's a bridge).
  • WOW! These suckers are heavy!!! ;-)

Terrible staff, no river, and cameras in every corner

As you drive up, you wonder if you are lost because it is in a very sketchy neighborhood. You feel a little relief when you get to the gate and see that it is a well manicured entrance. I stayed here with my family for 3 days and from check-in I could not wait to leave from the moment I arrived.…

In the trees

Campground right on 101. Big redwoods surround each site. Flushing toilets, hot showers, water available. Next to the South Fork Eel River. Diner with walk up window and General store across the Highway.

Three nights camping in the redwoods

Love this place - so peaceful and beautiful. Great campsites. Bathrooms and showers were very well maintained. Lots of hiking options.

It's ok

No wifi. Almost no phone signal too. Full hookups but sewer line has to go uphill. Nice lady. No reservations. No credit cards. Checks or cash. Right next to Hwy 101.

Best campground in the area, $10/night

Direct river access, many good sites, full bathrooms, available water, easy to get to and quiet. Also an awesome camp host (Shawnee) who is the perfect mix of knowledgeable and helpful while giving campers space.

Quiet during the week, full on weekends. 24 sites, most are on the main loop…

Cool little spot

We had a great stay. Lots of permanent residents, so know your rv etiquette. Biggest I would put in here would be about a 30 foot trailer. You have to disconnect your tow vehicle. River access right around the corner. Lady in the store was very sweet.
