    Lake Jennings, A Peaceful Escape

    We took our 28-foot travel trailer and two young kids (ages 5 & 8) for a long weekend at Lake Jennings Campground in Lakeside, CA — and it was a fantastic quick escape. Just 30 minutes east of San Diego. This hilltop park offers peaceful vibes, spacious sites, and family fun without the long drive. RV-Friendly Sites Our full-hookup pull-through site (30-amp) was easy to maneuver with plenty of space and privacy. Many sites have nice lake or city views (worth the small upgrade). Hookups worked great, and the clean restrooms/hot showers were a short walk away. Free Wi-Fi was a handy bonus. The shaded, covered playground was a huge hit, along with games like ladder golf, cornhole, and horseshoes. Short hiking trails start right from the campground with great lake overlooks. We rented a boat for fishing (no swimming — it’s a drinking water reservoir) and the kids loved spotting wildlife. Quiet hours were respected for good sleep. Friendly staff, well-maintained grounds, and a safe, gated feel made it relaxing. Pricing is reasonable Lake Jennings delivers scenic views, roomy RV sites, and kid-friendly activities in a convenient location. Perfect for families wanting a low-key getaway close to home. We’ll be back! Highly recommended for RV families

    Lighthouse Cove RV Park

    Nice beachfront campground

    Lovely spot right on the beach with good walking access to town. Bathrooms are clean, showers were good and had hot water. Laundry is small but price is right. Overall I was delighted. Nothing fancy for sure but it was a great place to stay and shelter from a storm.

    Drove here to camp but a gate blocked the entrance. Looks like a stunning place- must just be closed for the season.

    Sunset Campground — Death Valley National Park

    Gorgeous sunrise views and many basic amenities

    Dump, trash, water, and bathhouses … all that’s missing is electric! A great deal for $18 a night. Camp host is diligent about checking for receipts - don’t forget to pay at the kiosk. Sites easily fit our 43 ft fifth wheel. Close together but not an issue for us with most of the campground wiiiide open in late March/early April

    Ruth Lake - Ruth Lake

    Beautiful and quiet

    I’m here the first of April, still off season. I think I’m only camper here right now. The office and store are open but bathrooms/showers are closed. Off season rate here is $20 night, middle of April it goes up to $34 waterfront and $28 for other sites. Nothing is free anymore. But it’s very restful with no one here yet. That might change over the weekend. I think there’s around 50 sites here total.

    Beautiful, quiet campground. Great views of the Whitney Portal and Owens Valley. No water in early April. Sites are free of trash and pretty well maintained.

    Los Prietos

    Peaceful, Shaded Campsite with Great Amenities and Wildlife

    Los Prietos (Site 14) was a great spot enough of a flat area for a large tent, shaded, and with enough space between campers to feel comfortable. Each site has an elevated grill, a fire pit with a grill, log seating around the fire, a large picnic table, and shared water access between a couple campsites. We had beautiful 60–75°F weather in late March. Expect some mosquitoes, a bit of poison ivy at the edges of the campground, and lots of wildlife—we saw wild turkeys and woodpeckers. The river nearby was a perfect little escape, and Cachuma Lake is just 10 min away if you want to fish. Hosts were friendly, kept things quiet after 10pm, and there are several clean bathrooms throughout the campground. We had "LTE" by TMobile Wifi. Overall, a peaceful, well-kept campsite—I’d definitely come back.

    Road to Armenian Camp - Dispersed Spot

    I was starting to have doubts

    It is a good paved Road although only about 1 and 1/2 Lanes wide! It looks like there are three sizable pull-offs along the road, we went to the very last one before it becomes the private land of the Armenian Church Camp. Intermittent T-Mobile coverage. Nice views, grass (which of course means evidence of cows), and only one other car passed by all day.

    It's small and decent...your neighbors are CLOSE

    I like it, the beach hike is 5stars, the hiking in the hills is 4stars, pretty windy beac though but a pretty cool place only E stars cause they could make it so nice..... But yea it's okay
