Excellent Facility

The Pala RV park is a very nice and well kept location. Full hookups on what looks like every spot. 30/50 amp, water, sewer, and cable available on all spots. A few spots have grills that allow for charcoal grilling, but not all. Propane fills also available on site. Amenities like restrooms and showers are very clean. Only down side is lack of things for small children to do. Pool is great but could use a playground for the kids

Awesome park

Such a beautiful park. The park rangers are so helpful and friendly. The porta potties at the campsites were very clean. We were first timers so we opted for a space with electricity. Will definitely be going back soon.

Huge

This place is huge. 3 pools that are freezing but the workers said they are installing heaters. Tons of amenities. Mini golf(free) great little restaurant and bar. Store with everything you need. Not far from town if they don’t have it. Bike trails are right next to the park. Fun trails watch out for rattle snakes. Only downside is the kids racing around in golf carts at night.

Hiking trail itself was breathtaking

Spontaneously went here to camp for the weekend. We arrived late Friday night and still found a spot for three cars. There were four other groups, but by morning they were gone. As expected it was very hot during the day and windy at night, but the small, one-mile hike was very much worth it. Plenty of spots to use the restroom, and the dirt was packed so no need for AWD or 4WD.

Photographer friend was also able to capture amazing astrophotography here.

Huge bonus: we had signal all throughout the trip and we had Tmobile.

Need high clearance vehicle!!

I loved the site! It has a bathroom at the very start, but can be a little ways from the sites. I had service up there, not to crowded and the spots are a good ways away from each other! The only downfall is without a high clearance vehicle, it took me an hour and a half to go six miles up, and still scraped and almost got stuck. Definitelyyyy would say need a high clearance vehicle for some of the ruts, or be VERY experienced driving through rough roads.

Urban Glamping during Covid

Shadow Hills RV Resort is a stellar urban RV resort with all the amenities. Full hookups, daily trash pickups at each site, cable tv, large level pads with privacy hedge, small dog parks scattered throughout, gated security, nice restrooms w/ showers (free). We were visiting family who were just a short bike ride away. Can be extremely windy here. Desert X environmental art installations are nearby.

Great!!

Love this place Camping and the beach !!

In Town and Private Spots,

This place is a gem. It’s walking distance to downtown, across the street from a convenience store, Starbucks and restaurants, and has multiple hiking trails within walking distance, including one out the back gate. Each space is surrounded by 15ft hedges to provide privacy so don’t have to worry about closing the blinds and you can use your patio as you please without people bothering you. This is definitely an RV park, not a campground, but it offers the best of both and I’ll be back.

Tip: ask for a spot that is not on the hotel side of the property.

Great family campground

William Heise has several beautiful trails, each very different from the other, offering great views and tons of wildlife and plant life.
