Lovely Site With a Great Tent Pad Along the River

Stayed in Site 78 in the upper part of Lodgepole, which was perfect. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, no one was in the site next to us. (That one, site 74, seemed really cramped. Someone had moved the picnic table to the tent pad, but there wasn't really much space to move it anywhere else. If…

  • Sunset from Lodgepole site 78, looking toward site 73 and 72.
  • Site 78. Big tent pad. This is with a 4-person tent. Rocks around fire pit were handy to sit on. River is in background, down a little embankment. Easy walk.
  • Lodgepole site 78. You can see the table on the tent pad of neighboring site 74, which does not appear to be in use during the 2020-2021 pandemic.

River Sites

Great, clean place only 6 miles from Sequoia National Park entrance. This place has sites where you can back up to the river, is clean, has nice dog park area, nice fire pits & courteous staff.

  • Sheba on her way to the river
SiteRiver site, don’t recal site number but they are all good spots.

Great stop but a bit pricey

I have a rooftop tent and the tent area wasn’t such that my car could be parked at my spot so got a water only RV site at $45/night. Electricity would have almost doubled that. However, it does have a pool, showers, clean restrooms, doggie play area, mini store, and laundry if that wasn’t out of…

Furry Friends

This campground is pretty secluded along Shaver Lake. However, the spaces are extremely close together. We camped on a Tuesday and there was only one other camper so we were able to stay across the lot from them. There is a LOT of wildlife around here so you can expect to hear tons of raccoons,…

Nothing like the pics. No green grass in sight.

Sadly, the park was dry and desolate. It is evident that the owners are scraping by to either keep this park open or just too cheap to water the grass. There is no green grass in sight, except at the office. Therefore you will be camping on gravel surrounded by dirt. Extremely unlevel sites. …

Beautiful and Remote

We loved our stay at this campground. It was beautiful, quite and the camp host was incredibly kind. My only complaint is that we were very far from any good hikes. My partner and I ended up driving 3hours to Sequoia NP so we could get a good one in. However, if you want a nice, lazy weekend in the…

Easy to get to, large sites, dump sit and water

Great location in Joshua Tree but 20 minutes from west entrance. Large pull through sites semi-level. Clean restrooms with flush toilets and running water. Good TV and cell service, close to Yucca City. It does get very windy making it uncomfortable to sit outside. Great hiking trails from…

Great river side camping

Great little campground right next to King's River in Sierra National Forest. Twisty paved road wraps around Pine Flat Reservoir to get to the campground. Picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, and occasionally... cows wander through. The main loop has several sites and there's a section off to…

Mountain top camping with lake view

Camped three nights during the week in early May 2021 in a 24-foot travel trailer.  Site 007 was shaded with lake view, but narrow and barely long enough for our trailer.  Electric, water and sewer, all for Federal Golden-pass rate of $15!  Campground was mostly empty.  Bathrooms were ok: not…

Friendly host, dusty site

Advertised at $35 on The Dyrt, it was $63 with a discount. Closest bath house was mediocre, and no WiFi! Nice registration person offered her personal hotspot. As my 5th rv camping experience, I’m learning what to ask for up front.

Peaceful Getaway

Pine Flat is a beautiful place close to home yet far enough to find a peaceful getaway at the lake. Campgrounds are clean, restrooms and showers are close to campaign if you are tent camping. Trails to hike and explore.

Quiet & Nice Camping Site

This camping site is a nice free area super close to the Giants Trail entrance (5 minute drive). As you head in you go thru a little dirt road and at the end you see an opening for this site. There is one site located right at the start of the access road but with no views. The main area is cleared…
