Views of a dry lake bed

A nice campground.  Lots of space between sites, some with electric and water.  Nice views of where the lake should be, with volcanic outcroppings all around.  Site 01 was shaded, level and easy to back our 24 foot trailer into.  Unfortunately the lake was way low due to drought.   Things we did…

I didn't stay. Can't believe it has 5 stars!

I guess if you stayed on the water it might be nice but the campground itself was pretty bad. 1st they have blocked any phone signal so even with my WeBoost I could not work from here. 2nd the flies were horrible. 3rd my site was across from overflowing trash can. 4th the hookups are on the wrong…

Very windy

I don’t know how often it happens but the night was very windy. We might have been unlucky but I saw so many trees lean the same angle, meaning the valley could be the path of wind and tend to blow strong. If you plan to camp, not RV, watch out!

Convenient, shady respite

Easy on/off from Hwy. 99. Nice management. Spaces large and lots of shade coverage. Close to hwy but far enough that road noise isn't onerous. Train passes through once at night time, bring earplugs. Clean, tidy, well kept campground.

Little bit of green along the river

Probably COVID related but this park is under utilized and under attended. The shower is of if you throw in quarters and close your eyes. It could use some TLC but was a quite place to stop for the night.

Not all spots have shade.

Great place!

We had a blast here. You’re 25 miles from the park entrance, on a straight path. The sites were a great space and the pool and playground was a lot of fun of the kids. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

We visited on a Tuesday in late April and there was only one other couple on the opposite end of the campground. There's also a very nice attendant who lives on site who wen saw the next morning and recommended a hike that is accessible from the camp that hike is very nice but not very shaded. I…

Gorgeous and Quiet

Perfect spot for a few nights on the way to Yosemite. Blue oaks is on the top of a bluff with gorgeous views of both Don Pedro Lake to the east and the beautiful rolling hills to the west. Plenty of space to spread out, a ramada, picnic table, fire ring and grill provided. Water and electric.…

O’Neil Forebay Waterfront

We stayed in site 6 which was right on the water. Beautiful views and plenty of space between sites. Pretty busy on weekends but that’s typical this time of year. Water/Electric hook ups. No showers (we are self contained so it was perfectly fine for our 7 night stay) camp host was very nice and…

HILLS!

The staff there were great, very helpful and accommodating. They put us in G loop #19 which was pretty much on a hill and with my 33 foot travel trailer, there was no way for me to get it in there and level. I actually snapped a bolt off my stabilizer trying to back my rig in there, so we told the…

Nice Midweek Getaway

Easy check in and no extra fee for our 3 Aussies! We stayed at site c-1 for 2 nights and found it to be both clean and level.

RV sites have water and 30 amp hookups. Hookups are seemingly on the wrong side of your vehicle in many sites. If you want easy access to the picnic table, you’ll need…

Campground

All sites lay along the lake. This place is very popular with fishermen. Campground is rustic and could use some TLC. $20/night. Seniors save an extra $2.

Nice camp between stops

I stayed here for one night in a 22’ RV at one of the back-in sites for the shorter term stays on a drive from Death Valley back towards the San Francisco Bay area. I believe the office is currently closed due to Covid, but they have a box of maps and envelopes plus a drop box for payment right…
