Convenient - which is good and bad

This campground is super convenient - not more than a 3 minute drive from Highway 80 on a well paved Eagle Lakes Road.

The campground sits directly below Highway 80... as in, you can look up and see the cars from some campsites, and hear the cars from many campsites. Multiple high power lines…

We’ll Be Back

Had a wonderful time at Camp Lotus! Staff is very nice. Appreciate the grassy camping spots, showers, and restrooms! For your convenience, there is an on-site deli that serves breakfast, lunch, and pastries. There is also a store where they sell ice, drinks, ice cream, snacks, toiletries, and…

Nice campground and great boating reservoir

Overall the campsite was great and well maintained. The sites are mostly level but RV parking is *tight*. While the space was long enough for our 35 ft trailer and truck the pad was narrow and there are a lot of rocks to maneuver around. We were barely able to open our slide and drop the stairs…

Great lakefront spot!

Our favorite camping spot! We like to book the group site a few months in advance, as we can usually fit a trailer or two and a few tents without feeling too cramped. The group site at gate 2 is close to flush toilets without being *too* close. This park is listed here as "first come, first…

Easy Access Camping & Boating

Boca Reservoir can be accessed quickly and easily from Highway 80, just north of Truckee. Access is via paved road, but an additional portion of the reservoir may be accessed by dirt road (easy, flat dirt road).

Water levels are down quite a bit - the concrete ramp is many feet from the…

ATVs, 4 wheeling, and Nature

This campground had riding trails that could bring you to Sly Creek and secret camping sites that a quad or 4 wheel drive could find. It's closed until 2023 due to the fires. My review is based on my experiences prior to that. The main camp area sits on 2 sides of the creek and has hand pump…

Nice stop over

This was a great stop over as we were passing through. A quiet and small RV park with first come, first serve spaces when you arrive. It is gated. Water and Electricity with a dump station. Spacious enough for us. Easy to get in and out and pretty level. No wifi but AT&T worked fine.

Nice experience

Took my wife here for her first backpacking trip. Was over all a great experience. Went at the end of June . The lake is shallow in some areas with white sand . It got a bit windy at night and the mosquitoes were gone by the morning but mosquitoes do love hanging out by the water. Cool spot to stay…

Happy place

Dry camping with space between sites. Great for kayaking and tents. Some sites require high clearance vehicles. Beautiful views.

Mean people suck!

We checked in and had reservations but it’s a first come first serve sites! They have different sections that cost more… the closer you are to the river, the more it will cost. It ranges from $5 to $20 bucks more a night. They say NO saving sites but people do and if your new to the campground it’s…

Rude staff that yells at you

This is a beautiful spot. Unfortunately it's a Forest Service location that's run by a private concessionaire who runs it like a prison. They staff literally yelled at my family. They have a lot of rules, which is fine, but when someone breaks a minor rule, for example talking quietly after 10 PM,…

Still a Great Place to Stay

Upgraded to a camper this year! Site 23 was shorter than expected which upped the parking challenge but squeezed in okay. Had a great time - large area to spread gear out in, easy walk to semi-private cove on lake. AWESOME for birding - Bald Eagles 🦅, Pelicans, woodpeckers, chickadees & ravens…

It’s a Dump Station…what can I say?

Not bad. Did not realize it was $15 for dump until in the queue for a single side, single point dump site. Has water points for spraying out dump hose (👍🏻), spigot for connecting to black tank flush (👍🏻) and a fresh water spigot to fill your fresh tank (if you’re into filling fresh water tank…

Beautiful and serene

Campground was situated nicely with perfect trees for our hammocks and bathrooms were tidy. Beautiful hiking within minutes of the campground with gorgeous views of the lake and boulders - and even waterfalls!
