Minietta Road

Loved this spot right outside of Death Vally National Park. My dog and I pulled up and stayed for one night. It was easy enough to find and we were one of two sites occupied. There is a little noise from the two lane highway you turn off of, but it settles down after dark and the time most people are leaving the national park. The site even had an existing fire ring for us to make a little fire, just make sure you check the fire restrictions for the time of year you are visiting. We even encountered a little kit fox while I was brushing my teeth before bed. I will definitely be back.

We took the first dispersed camping spot available off Minietta Road and were pleasantly surprised by how massive it was—plenty of room to spread out and feel completely secluded. We didn’t see a single other camper all night, which made it feel incredibly remote.

The quiet was intense. My husband found it almost disturbingly silent, broken only by the occasional car passing on the main road. Inside our Sprinter, though, I barely noticed any road noise at all. I only heard cars when I stepped outside to admire the stars.

Speaking of stars—absolutely stunning. With no nearby campers and minimal light pollution, the night sky was the highlight of the experience. If you’re looking for a spacious, peaceful dispersed camping spot with epic stargazing and don’t mind true desert solitude, this spot is a great choice.

We took the first big spot you come to on the west side of Panamint rd as pinned on the map here. Not sure if there’s more if you go further. Nice fire ring, quiet and open views, loved it. Easy in and out in our 36’ RV plus toad.

I loved boondocking here in Panamint Valley. The road is really long, so I’m sure there are a lot of spots. Most of them seem to be spread out 1/4 mile or so. The valley is known for having ZERO background noise, so the only sound you’ll hear are the occasionally car, the ravens, and the Hornet fighter jet that flights overhead. At night, you get an unmatched view of the stars and Milky Way because there’s no light pollution.

We pulled off on the closest part to the road which was quiet all night really. There were other parts further up.

Great for a night or two, heading towards or leaving Death Valley between Joshua Tree..

You are literally in the middle of nowhere. No cell phone reception, amenities, nothing, not even shelter, but yet so peaceful and quiet. We saw a couple of RVs but everyone has a TON of space....I would totally camp here again.

I was able to let dog and cat out of camper and they weren't going anywhere....nothing to chase, etc.
