The Lake was beautiful, the facilities were great. Fun for the whole family. With the canoeing, boating, swimming and the water bounce house. There is also the movies for kids w/ice cream.
Beautiful setting, nice sites, friendly staff, and clean bathrooms. Only downside was the highway noise.
We spent one night a Cattle Camp and enjoyed the stopover. The campground was empty compared to Fowler’s just down the road. Lots of space between sites, plenty of shade, and rather level. You can access the McCloud River trail from Camp which gave us the chance to stretch our legs and wear out…
Some info to keep in mind when visiting...
Year-round campground. Dry camping only. Has showers (nice hot water), and flush toilets. Showers are designed to accept tokens but this season not needed.
Each site has a parking space, picnic table and fire pit. Some have older stone fireplaces…
This is a very nice Mom and Pop Rv Park. The host is very friendly and helpful. Very quiet and relaxing stay. They have a store at the park. If you want they provide a fire pit. Firewood is available. We stayed during Memorial weekend. It was a great park to unwind and be with family and…
Camped here twice, and have plans to go again. Great kayaking, easy launch and enjoy the hiking trail around the lake. My wife enjoyed the ice cream too.
Hidden out of the way little gem. The campground has only eight sites. The restrooms are clean and showers are available at a neighboring campground. Right now the lake is so low you really can’t get to it. But it’s great just to hang out in peace and quiet. Be sure to download directions, hiking…
There are only two camp sites reasonably far apart. Nice clean outhouse and potable hand pump water. Picnic tables and trash bins provided as well as a fire pit. The only negative was the Carr fire that burned many trees in the area.
Loud highway is right there. I like how forested campground is. Not many people here. Showers were free ( at least at this time). Good value for the price. I liked the short hike to Sacramento river.
Pretty basic ...can’t camp here just a cool spot to park with a little bit of river access and some park benches..

No campground !
I can’t say enough good things about this campground. Fowler’s was 100% full but as of later on a Thursday in mid-May here we have an entire loop to ourselves. Rain/showers were in some forecasts so some may have cancelled trips. Sites are much larger & more spread out than Fowler’s. Only…
There are 14 camp grounds. About 7/8 have bear bins. There is no water right now because the spring/well is dried up)-: there are fire rings on about 1/2 the camp cites. Bathrooms are close but, kinda gross. Nice shade and trees to slack line. No camp host so but fire wood and in town. Very close…
