Quiet and lovely

We stayed here just for a night on our way to Death Valley. It’s super convenient from Bakersfield and nice and quiet, by the Kern River. Clean and calm with some nice sites by the river. All have picnic tables and fire rings. The host was so lovely and let us stay for free in a site that had…

Huge campsites

50 huge campsites with lots of trees for shade. Many river side sites. No hook ups, but there is a dump station and several water spigots. Been coming here for years. Only a few miles to town. A short walk to lake Ming and Kern River golf course

Great Stopping Place!

We have used this campground a couple of times to get out of LA at night and have an early start the next morning. I typically avoid campgrounds with valt toilets- but they have always been clean and we never stay more than a quick over night.

Just Okay

We stopped overnight here. Would not recommend more than that. Best thing - highway noise is minimal. Worst thing: bathrooms are locked between 10 pm and 7:30 am (not good for those of us with early mornings). The dog area is a very small lawn with no fencing so no off leash running - especially…

Plan to return

Sites are right off runway for glider flying. We ended up extending stay from one night to four to watch air force cadet competition. Owners are very pleasant and helpful. Plan to return in the future and listen to the coyotes at night again. All sights are pull thru, bathroom and laundry well…

Great place for the night

Took a chance and found a spot last minute, right on the water. It was on gravel without shade but it didn't really matter because we were just crashing for the night. Beautiful, warm summer night, very friendly staff. People do like their jet skis there so if that bothers you then maybe find…

Tranquil and relaxing

Tucked in the mountains, you feel very peaceful. Nights were beautiful with all the stars lighting the sky. The caretaker was nice to show us a gopher snake too.

Great place dangerous river

We camp here every year. Usually late shooting to early summer. Camp grounds are well maintained. Would not recommend camping on holidays. Close to 2 lakes ming and hart Park.

Brite Lake 👍

Brite Lake is a small lake but you can definitely catch some fish! You can camp right up to the water which was awesome! It does get a little windy at times but nothing too crazy 👍

High altitude, hidden in the trees

Beautiful spot. Old school mountainside camping in the tall trees. Campsites are around 6,000’, pit toilets, grills, steel fire pits, picnic tables and potable water taps. We spent a night in late May and there were only a few other sites occupied on a Wednesday night. This is a hidden gem. It was…

Quiet and Peaceful

When they say mountain, they mean mountain! The road to the campground is a narrow, twisty, two lane road. Then we got to the campground and it got narrower and steeper. The grades in some parts of the campground were double digit percent grades and the hairpin turns were very sharp. We were towing…

Sweet spot along the way

Mountain Valley RV park in Tehachapi, Ca is a nice mid-way stop between Las Vegas and the Bay area. We stayed here when we discovered our trailer was a bit too large to get into Tehachapi Mt State Park Campground. (Although this RV park isn’t that far from the state park where you could drive and…
