Great

Great spot. takes like a whole hour to get there. you’ll lose reception about half way getting there (at least with Verizon you will). i went early August and there was only one other camper van. very quiet. AMAZING sunset view. one of the best i’ve seen. just wished there was signal , for safety reasons.

Picnic table in the middle of the mountaind

We were heading to the other campground but saw à sign and stopped here. The views are not spectacular since you are in a little depression. But toilet, picnic table, structure to protect from the sun, firepits. Cant beat that for free.

Quiet and secluded

Only one other person camping in February. Large spaces, road to get there is paved but many large pot holes. Pit toilet could use attention.

How Sweet It Is!

We wanted to stay in Pinnacles National Park, but the campground was full. We ended up staying there the next day, but ironically, I liked Sweetwater much more. It's a somewhat long drive, but you're rewarded with decent solitude. There are only a few sites, so we got lucky. I was surprised how nice the campground was, especially since it was free. Be aware there is no water available. It's definitely not as convenient as staying in Pinnacles, but I would choose Sweetwater over camping in the park.

Great spot.

Clean, easy, spacious. Any car could make it. No service. Six spots. Each spot has shelter, table and ring. Pretty private. Will be back for sure.

Free is free

Didn’t actually camp here. Was planning a group camping trip and wanted to scout the place out before hand. Thought BLM land maybe there was a good spot for group of 5/6 vehicles. Camping looked ok but not for groups. Went on Saturday late morning and still 2 sites available. Sites are just a slip off the road. All areas in campsite are roped off so you are not expand your camp it looks like. Good spot to be close to Pinnacles for free and hike but not a spot I would go to hang around the camp site.

Quiet and secluded

Clean and well kept. Level ground all be it hard and difficult to get stakes in. I would return if ever in the area. Sites are well spaced and dead quiet at night. (No cell service with Verizon)

Unforgettable!

Fresh Air (despite being surrounded by bad air on all sides) + Nature (deer, quails, turkeys, coyotes in one night) + Dark New Moon Skies means Bright Stars with Clear View of the Milky Way + Safe (Popular with Campers but well distanced from one another) + a Clean Toilet that mysteriously doesn’t smell!

Great views and awesome hikes

This place is great. If you love hiking this place has awesome views and lots of wildlife. Be careful while hiking we came across a rattle snake. Specially during hot summers they are definitely out more. We also came across some bird eggs which was awesome to see.
