Secluded, woodsy

This is my fiance and I's favorite spot. The tent area I stay in Is very spacious and often you cant see any neighbors unless traveling to the shower house, with regular toilets electric and more. If you need amenities like a shower but like a private, primitive, woodsy feel this is the place. …

The Best Place to Camp in WV!

I’m 42 yrs old and I’ve been camping at Summersville Lake since shortly after I was given birth too( no joke)! Therefore I’ve been camping at Summersville for my whole life! The camping is perfect, the lake is gorgeous, and the memories we’ve made over all these years can never be forgotten! It’s…

Family Friendly

A very relaxing, family friendly place to camp! Visited here several times and the campground is always clean. If you have a boat, the lake is a lot of fun play on.

Spring fishing trip

Our first trip to this area and we weren't disappointed. Wonderful country and scenery. Great campgrounds, spacious, bit aa bit tight to back into with soft shoulders to the road. Clean bathrooms and trash cans are plentiful. Walking trails to the lake and what a lake! We shall return at some point…

Huge campground

4 separate areas including a waterfront area. Centrally located small pool, food vendor and mini golf. Bring a boat! Full marina as well. Great beach area and boat mooring everywhere. Long trails are fantastic

Nice!

Super friendly camp host. He met us and drove us to the camp park because it was so dark. Spacious sites, and he is making amazing improvements to the park. Beautiful river setting.

I'm giving it 5 stars but it was a disappointment

I'm sure this is an amazing campsite, but it was a little to rustic for my liking. There is no cell service within 30 miles, so for an outsider who doesn't know the area, it was difficult to find the campsite. You also better bring everything you need beforehand. There are no grocery stores…

Absolutely stunning views

Probably the best view I ever had traveling in the RV. This place has 39 full hookup sites right on New River. It's small and not much to it but still a nice place to stay. There is a small playground, bathroom/laundry house and an off that sells fishing supplies. You can recycle aluminum cans here…

Friendly staff, beautiful views

I wish I could give more stars, but the campground itself is just okay while everything around it is amazing.

Pros: right on the river, convenient to everything (walking distance to Family Dollar and a scenic waterfall), staff super helpful and nice, full hookups

Cons: campsites are right on…

1st Time at Summersville

First time at Summersville to camp. Great atmosphere and good amenities. Camp sites spread out enough to where campers are not directly on top of each other. However, their guest policy is a little annoying, have to register them in before 8 pm and not able to pay for your guests in the morning if…
