Very remote western Maryland Appalachia. Sites are right off park road, are huge, rustic, and spaced very far apart from other sites. River runs along the sites.

This is a really nice state park. Although the campground was nearly full when we were there it didn't feel crowded. Sites are reasonably spaced and ours looked out on a wide open grassy field which made it feel spacious. The woman at the entrance was really nice and helped us transition to a…
Camped here for proximity to the MD and WV high points, nice campground, clean showers, the electric hookups are not located in what you would call the right place (often opposite the trailer drivers side) but it’s workable with weird parking and extension cords. The trails lead through incredible…

We enjoyed our stay at this campground set at the top of the mountain! There’s just enough room in between each campsite and the layout is easy to navigate. It gets busy on the weekend but it’s a nice environment. It’s fun to explore the downtown after rafting on the yough!

Campground up the road from the main day use area with the falls. Absolutely gorgeous. The walk to the falls is super easy and accessible. Other hikes around too. Campground is pretty basic but nice.
The campground is large and fills up in the summertime. The park is gorgeous and has a lot to offer.
Lots of spots along the trails. Sites in the more popular areas by the rivers fill up on busy weekends. The trails can be muddy and rocky but a gorgeous area. Bear country so bring a cannister or hang your food. But 100% worth the trip.

You have to know what you're getting here - there ARE campsites with amenities, near water and bathrooms, but not all of them have the amenities. Frankly, the bare campsites are nicer - they are more spread out, wooded, and some of them are located right along the stream. Mosquitos are something…
New Germany State Park is situated in Garrett County Maryland. The park has a small lake, a few trails, and two camping loops. The Hemlock loop- the only loop that allows pets, is smaller and is mostly made for tent camping, though one site has electricity, but only big enough for a teardrop…
Great camping spot, sizable lots
Great amenities and nearby lake make this a great camping spot for the whole family
We booked 2 weeks before for Thurs-Saturday. We arrived Thursday evening, and there were a couple other people but by Friday every lot was filled. We weren’t camped near the lake, so the bugs weren’t too bad. Bathroom facilities were pretty clean (and I have HIGH standards for cleanliness) and…

Real dispersed and nice for meditation and views. Beautiful scenery
I’m a full-time RVer, and I typically stay about a month at each campground. I was at five River Campground for the entire month of June, and it was great!!! The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The electric, sewer, and water hook ups work well, and the RV sites are fairly level. Picture…

Canaan Valley has 3 loops of sites with hookups as well as a few primitive tent sites. There’s a centrally located bath house with flush toilets and hot showers. Many of the sites are pull-through with parking parallel to the loop road. I was on the last loop in a pull-through site and the main…
