Great Campsite

Literally the only downside to this spot was no cell phone reception for my niece and nephews to contact there parents and let them know how things were going. There was plenty of space for the kids to run around without disturbing anyone. And the sites were nicely spaced with plenty of wooded…

Pretty

Very pretty area! The sites are all located along a winding road that parallels a river. Some sites are better than others! Our site was very hilly and the picnic table and fire pit were a bit treacherous to get to. Don’t stay in 35 with a tent or mobility issues. We happened to stay on a day that…

Winter Visit

We stopped here on Thanksgiving on our way South. Self paying, off season was $15. But the restrooms were closed. There were only 3 other sides occupied. Nice little campground in the Appalachian Foothills. Be aware that Google maps doesn't send you to the campground but to a parking lot at the…

Nice!

Super friendly camp host. He met us and drove us to the camp park because it was so dark. Spacious sites, and he is making amazing improvements to the park. Beautiful river setting.

Fall Fun and Trick-or-Treats

We came to this campground because it was close to the Kenova Pumpkin House. We rented a cabin on a cute little pond. It was a nice setting and it was a little out of the way from the main part of the campground which was nice. It had a deck that overlooked the pond and the campground. The only…

Not a proper camp however in a pinch 🤫

Arrived in the Athens area very late. Camp ground at the state park gave me an eerie feeling so I stayed here instead and it was decent.

Single human, car camping. I stayed in the lot. In the morning every passersby was kind from a covid-distance. Yard signs on the way out advocated civil rights.…

Mountwood Park Family Campground

The campground was pretty much empty. There are a few permanents there but we had it all to ourselves. Covid still has every other site coned off. It was clean though. Went for a hike on the park side around the lake. Several trails. Alot of ATV and dirtbikes came in on the weekend.

Clean and quiet

This campground was perfect. It’s up on a hill and the sites are spaced out pretty well. It’s behind a hotel. Our site had room for our 26’ hybrid with 3 beds, plus two cars, chairs, and our two dog tie outs. I loved that it was near the main highway but up on a hill so you didn’t hear the…

Parking Lot

This "campground" has all the atmosphere of a Walmart parking lot, except that you have to pay $50 (not a typo) for the privilege.  It is right next to the hotel (Holiday Inn or something?), where you have to go to check in and out, and where there's a restaurant if you don't feel like cooking.

Quiet, Enjoyable

We visited this park for the 4th of July, which made it very busy, but it was still very quiet. Be ready to tow up steep hills throughout this park. You enter the park through a Chevrolet dealership lot and then check in at the Days Inn Hotel. We had never been to an RV Park run by a hotel before…

Gorgeous Place

Love this KOA! Great grounds, lots of shade down in a valley. Great cell phone service for Verizon. Wide RV spots. Full hookup with e/w/s. Nice pool area. Pool area is at the hotel. Hotel/KOA same owner. FREE ICE at the arena area.

They do have shower house and laundry facilities in the arena…

Very unprofessional

We had a site requested for a week and when we arrived we got the site it hadn’t been mowed in a few weeks it was up to my knees and had no picnic table, no fire ring and wanted to put the camper on a hill that it would have taking 6 2x6s stacked on top of each other to even get it level. We will…

Cute little camp!

I study wildlife conservation and my professor has flying squirrel boxes here that we check every winter. A couple cute cabins that I believe are run by the Girl Scouts. Short trail in a residential area but definitely pretty! I love running up to this area and jumping on the trail real quick to…

A nice place for a walk

No camping here! However the trails are nice for biking, hiking, or trail running. The deeper you go into the trails here the better. There are some cool rocks and some cool rock shelters. There are also a ton of fun bouldering routes. Make sure to bring a crash pad or two. Dogs are also a regular…
