Nice Spot for the South Entrance

The park was ok.  We had a nice spot in Loop D with the Gros Ventre River right behind us.  Definite Moose presence there as well!   We saw 3 adult Moose and 1 young moose with it's mom.

The site itself was nice, but very tight!  Piles of tree trimmings on the sides of the road and the sites…

Couldn't have asked for better!

I he only reason tor the 4 stars was the host was being stubborn about a slightly early checkin. The site was vacant and was left clean. He made us wait. Other than that, we loved our site. We could walk to the boat launch (we use inflatable kayaks and paddleboard for ease). We had the only site…

Stay out of my site!

A favorite hike-to of ours. A beautiful 8 mile hike up the mountain finished with secluded sites with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Lots of wildlife, a bear cannister is required and provided at the parks Visitors Center when receiving your backcountry permit

Pretty Good!

Good cell service, access to a great trail, and clean campsites. Several spots have nice access to a stream that runs through that area which was great to play in with my pup!

Packed on the weekends but campsites are spread apart with vegetation in between which provides fairly good privacy.

Quiet, recently changed owners so some amenities are not available yet. Water and electric, no sewer. There is a nice bath house with showers, no laundry at present.

Loved this place

We loved it here so much we stayed 3 extra days. One near encounter with a bear. Beautiful night sky. Easy access to the river. So clean. Hosts were the best hosts I have ever encountered. After a brief (10 min) rain/thunderstorm, host went and checked on everyone. Bathrooms cleaned daily. Very…

Beautiful campsite but at a cost

The place was perfect for me to camp one night and the people are really nice that work there. However bug spray is necessary and late at night a lot of homeless roam around the camp. There is also a train depot across from the park that is very loud.

One of our favorites

I’ve been camping at the upper coffee lot campground for years, it’s nice and clean and is right on the river, great campsite to fish or float or you could go for a hike down to the coffee pot rapids

What a surprise!

What a surprise. Small, intimate, but generous sites. We don't often find NF campgrounds with electricity. Only 9 sites, but all with electric. There is a spicket for fresh water. Super clean. A little road noise, but not too bad. As with all national sites, the America the Beautiful…

Lulled to sleep by the river

Andy's review below is spot on and alreadt includes a lot of great information about this campground, so I won't repeat.

When we were there, it was the first spring hatching of the mosquitoes. In other places, it was swarms of them!!! Not here. At least, not on the loop close to the river. …

Beautiful spot, nice staff

This is a tucked away little spot close to the Snake River, that feels totally peaceful and calm. It isn't crowded or bustling like some RV parks, but it has good amenities, and the staff are extremely nice and helpful with ideas for what to do in the area. It's right next to a beautiful view of…

Almost to many people

I remember camping at warm river with my dad when I was a kid and I remember how you could almost always just drive up and not worry about finding a spot to pitch our tent. Recently went up to show my wife this area and was disappointed about how many camping spots they have added some being only…

Lots of dispersed camping options

We needed a spot to spend the night on our way back to Montana. Our timing worked out for the Idaho Falls area and Wolverine Canyon came up as an option. It’s all paved road until you get to the mouth of the Canyon, then it’s a well maintained gravel road. A few washboard spots but easy to tow a…
