    Liberty Lake RV Campground

Looks like a parking lot with RVs

This is a newer RV park in Liberty Lake. They have only been open 2 years. Liberty Lake is between Spokane, WA and Coeur d’Alene ID. There are about 130 spaces or so, with concrete pads and paved streets. There is grass between sites, but they are much too close to be comfortable, and there is no shade! And, the rules!!! Lots more rules than most other camping areas.’ It also appears many of the residents are semi-permanent. They have free cable snd wifi, a dog park, playground, swimming pool, laundry, and dump station. The sites are 30/50 amp, most are pull through but the outer ring is back in. They also have propane. They are on the pricy side: an outside loop 50 ft. Site is $74/night. Good Sam gets you a 10% discount. It is easy access to I-90 both East and west.

    Blackwell Island RV Park

    Waterfront RV campground

    9/14 to 9/17/19

    Blackwell Island RV Resort

    Coeur d'alene Idaho

Close to interstate, located next to Spokane River and lake. Boat and kayak rentals. Sites are gravel, level, both pull throughs and back ins available, FHU, no privacy between sites. Some nice water front sites. Chairs in place to enjoy the small beach. Nice volleyball and play area. Small BMX course was fun. Cute landscaping near water, small trees within the campground. Picnic tables, no wood fires allowed. No tents of any kind. Very limited store at the office. Town very close with stores and restaurants. Nice restaurant a short distance at the Marina called Cedars. Great private bathroom/with shower. Nice laundry facilities. Free cable and spotty wifi. Moose too!

    Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park

It's one of the nicest fairground rv parks.

It's one of the nicest fairground rv park I have been to. This place was very well kept and very friendly campground host. This place is big rig friendly. I stayed in a 45 class A motorhome with a tow vehicle. I had no problem with the access to the rv park. If you are coming off of interstate 90, don't use exit 13. The round about is way to small to handle big rig or any camper. The best route is exit 12 big rig friendly. The price is very reasonable for this area. No shade.

    Thousand Trails Little Diamond

    Little Diamond Newport Washington

We spent a week here and loved it. It is so quiet and peaceful. The sites share electric and water, no sewer and are positioned oddly they are on the off side and in front by the road. Some 30and 50 amp just check the box. The sites are gravel, some what level and size/length varies, a few pull throughs, our 37ft 5ver had no problem. Bathroom showers are ok. Laundry is good. There is a small lake free fishing, didn’t fish. We stayed in the Thousand Trails side, it is a split park with KOA on the other side. Two dump stations, nice lodge/ spa and pool open. AT&T and Sprint were very good. At our site 144

    Sedlmayer's Resort & Campground

A great quiet campground on the lake front.

My wife accidentally came across this private campground, which turned into a great stay. Located in northern Idaho and right on Spirit Lake, this campground has 31 RV sites that can accommodate various sizes of RVs. Every site has 20, 30& 50 amp electrical service however, only sites 1 through 21 have sewer. If you need a pull-through site, then go with #14 through#19, or#21.

The campground has a lakeside restaurant, boat slips for campers, and a small general store. The area was well maintained and clean. There are numerous mature cedar trees providing shade and privacy throughout the campground. My only complaint is that only 5 fire pits are located throughout the campground. This campground seems to be a local known quiet gem worth checking out for family fun.

    North Haven Campground

    Cutest Little Campground

This little campground was an awesome find! We rolled in last minute while passing thru town and snagged a pull thru site with electric and water. Sites have fire pits and picnic tables. They also have adorable cabins, glamping wagons and a tipi avoidable to reserve. The office/camp store is great, they’ve got a good selection of cool stuff to browse through. Firewood was available for sale. Front porch of the office/store has a chest freezer with ice and ice cream for sale. There’s also a foosball table, a table for checkers and a little bookshelf library to take/leave a book. The bathhouse was hands down the nicest camp bathrooms we’ve ever used! Showers were amazing! The laundry was great… $2.50 a load, either wash or dry and conveniently accessible 24 hours a day. There’s a large lighted pavilion with picnic tables, cornhole boards with bags, and a dartboard. There’s also a small playground and a hot tub available to use! This campground was so well maintained, the employees friendly and helpful, and it’s just a really sweet, family-friendly, quiet campground. We loved it!

    Bonner County Fairgrounds

Five-Star Review for Bonner County Fairground Campground

My recent stay at the campground at Bonner County Fairground in Pondray, ID was absolutely phenomenal!

We had such a wonderful experience from start to finish and we can't recommend this campground enough. First and foremost, the campground is incredibly well-maintained and clean. The facilities are top-notch and it's evident that the staff takes great pride in keeping everything in excellent condition.

The campground itself is spacious and well-designed, offering plenty of room for RVs and other camping setups. They do not allow tents at this park. The campsites were level and provided ample space for my RV, as well as a picnic table. We particularly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the campground, with beautiful views of the surrounding nature. What truly sets this campground apart is its convenient location. Being situated at the Bonner County Fairground, we had the opportunity to explore the fairgrounds and attend any events or activities that happened to be taking place during our stay.

Moreover, the campground is ideally situated to explore the breathtaking natural beauty of Pondray and the surrounding area. I took full advantage of the numerous hiking and biking trails nearby, immersing myself in the stunning landscapes and fresh mountain air. The picturesque scenery and abundant wildlife made every outdoor adventure truly unforgettable.

Another aspect that impressed me was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

They were always available to answer any questions, provide recommendations for local attractions and dining options, and ensure that my stay was as enjoyable as possible. In terms of amenities, the campground had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The electrical hookups were reliable, and the availability of potable water and dump stations made it easy to manage my RV's needs.

Lastly, I must mention the incredible local attractions in the Pondray area. From the nearby Lake Pend Oreille, perfect for boating, fishing, and swimming, to the charming town with its unique shops and restaurants, there was always something exciting to explore. We also had the opportunity to visit nearby national forests and parks, immersing myself in nature and taking in the breathtaking vistas.

Guide to Sandpoint

RV sites near Sandpoint, Idaho serve as convenient bases for exploring Lake Pend Oreille and northern Idaho wilderness areas. With an elevation of approximately 2,100 feet, Sandpoint campgrounds experience warm summer temperatures in the 80s and cool nights in the 50s. Winter camping options remain limited with many facilities closing from October through April due to snowfall accumulation averaging 60 inches annually.

What to do

Water recreation access: Blue Lake RV Resort provides direct water access with rentals available on site. "They have paddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards and a floating trampoline. The little lake is full of catfish and turtles that you can feed," writes a camper at Blue Lake RV Resort.

Downtown exploration: Camping at City Beach RV Park puts visitors within walking distance to Sandpoint's shopping district. "There is a bikepath that follows the river. Very beautiful. There is fishing, playground, pool, tennis courts a Statue of Liberty standing in the lake. Lots of shopping. Good food, including an amazing vegan restaurant, downtown," notes a reviewer at City of Sandpoint, City Beach RV Park.

Fishing opportunities: Lakes and rivers around Sandpoint offer excellent fishing. "We got a spot beside the lake. Mark at the front desk and wine bar was very nice. Had we arrived sooner we would have had a drink. We paddle boarded and swam the next day," reports a Blue Lake RV Resort visitor.

What campers like

Private beach access: Several RV parks offer lake or river frontage with designated swimming areas. "They had a nice beach along the Spokane River with plenty of high quality beach chairs to relax in and watch the parade of boats coming from upriver," shares a visitor to Blackwell Island RV Park.

Mature tree coverage: Tamarack RV Park provides ample shade during hot summer months. "A really pretty setting, though the spaces feel a little narrow. I'd definitely come back," and "Fantastic little RV park Bathrooms are very clean! Sights are small but the hookups make up for it!" note campers at Tamarack RV Park And Vacation Cabins.

Spacious sites: Some parks offer generously sized camping spots with privacy. "The sites are close and very open. Make sure you reserve the correct power hookup for your RV. RV Park does have things for the family to do, outside the theme park," mentions a reviewer at Silverwood RV Park.

What you should know

Train proximity: Several RV parks near Sandpoint are situated close to active rail lines. At Blue Lake RV Resort, a camper notes: "One of the major downsides was the campsite's unfortunate location between two railway lines. The constant sound of freight trains passing by throughout the day was quite disruptive."

Limited tent camping: Most facilities prioritize RV accommodations with tent options restricted to certain areas. "If you're planning to sleep in a tent just be aware that tents have to be placed on a gravel pad," advises a visitor to Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park.

Seasonal availability: Most lakeside campgrounds operate between May and October. "We went past a couple of other campgrounds in the area. If we needed accommodations in Coeur d'Alene again, we would stay here instead of the others we saw," shares one RVer about regional options.

Tips for camping with families

Water activities: Multiple campgrounds offer water recreation suitable for children. "The little lake is full of catfish and turtles that you can feed. Their prices are very reasonable and the campsites are designed pretty well. My boys are ready to return and so am I," writes a camper at Blue Lake RV Resort.

Theme park access: Silverwood Theme Park camping provides convenient entry to rides and attractions. "It's next to Silverwood theme park, so you can camp the night before, hit the theme park early, and then crash after a fun filled day," explains a visitor to Silverwood RV Park.

Dog-friendly options: Many parks accommodate pets with designated areas. "There's a library and wi-fi room that really wasn't much better signal than the rest of the park which was mediocre. The laundry room was large and extremely clean along with the individual public bath/showers," notes a family at Blackwell Island RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Hookup considerations: RV parks vary in their electrical service offerings. At Travel America RV Park, a visitor writes: "Very nice lots. Lots of grass and trees, nice convenience store."

Laundry facilities: Multiple campgrounds offer on-site laundry options. "The laundry room was large and extremely clean along with the individual public bath/showers," mentions a camper at Blackwell Island RV Park.

Site selection guidance: Choosing the right campsite location can significantly impact your stay. "If you stay here go for the riverfront sites," advises an RVer at Blackwell Island, while another suggests: "If in B, C or D try to get a high number (farther away from the road)," at Tamarack RV Park.
