Close to hot springs

This is a small arid campground on the side of a hill. The most level(and largest) spots are inside the loop, in the middle. The sites on the outside edge either slope or are small because they are on the hill. Cool hippy dude is the campground host and he is pretty friendly and vigilant watching the comings and going’s. There is$5 day use parking if you just want to check out the big draw here- hot springs! A half mile hike will take you to the hillside hot springs with pools at river level as well as a few pools on the hillside. Watch the trail(and campground) for rattlesnakes!

Great camping spot outside Boise

Awesome place to get away for a few nights. Campsites in the middle have plenty of space, outer circle spots might have a bit less room, especially if by the river. Highway noise isn't bad. Hot springs are accessible via a short trail, some of the pools are harder to get to so use caution. Nice place to stay if you are on the fence for choosing this location.

Hot springs, starry skies, forest

Absolutely beautiful area at night the sky is so dark we could see the milky way. There are massive pine trees throughout, and beautiful relaxing hot springs are a short hike away. The only reason it isnt 5 stars is because you arent very secluded from the other campers

5/31 Sunday night

We stayed on a Sunday night and the sites on either side of us were empty.  Very calm.  Beautiful location.  I can see where it could be slightly cramped if the campground is full, but it was perfect for us.

Very nice small campground with paved sites and a nearby hot spring

This campground is really nice and well maintained. A fire recently burned a lot of the forest nearby, but didn't seem to hit the campground. The site has no hookups, but is paved and easily navigated. There is drinking water via spigot at a few locations and a restroom. The river is pretty fast at the campground, so swimming isn't advisable. there is a nice hiking trail that leads to the hot springs, a very nice benefit of this campground.

Hidden hotsprings getaway

Pine flats is a less traveled to hotsprings destination. There are only 3 pools and two are located on the mountainside overlooking the river and the third is located down on the river (when the river is high, it washes out). It is a bit of a dangerous hike down to the last pool so not a great destination for kids. Make sure to bring headlamps if you plan to go at night.

Neature walk

this camp ground has a great location, downhill from the highway, there is virtually no noise from the road, and there are hotsprings located within a half a mile from your camp ground. One of the best hot pools is located on a side of the hill that requires you to walk through the river for a short distance, which really adds to the uniqueness of this camp ground.

Busy Campground

We visited this campground in May, before the campground host was there. It was crowded with some noisy campers not respecting the generator hours. It was kind of annoying to have to listed to a generator all night while trying to be outside! Also, the bathroom was kind of gross & ran out of toilet paper. We were prepared with extra so it didn't really matter. I imagine the atmosphere & upkeep is better when the campground host is there... Other than that, the campground is great. It's off of the road, but not too far, and therefore easy to get too. The site are spread out pretty good. It has a couple of hot springs all around it, which we didn't go into because they were really crowded and didn't seem very nice. But walking/hiking along the river was really beautiful!

Worth the Trip

I annually visit Pine Flats with great hot springs just a quick walk away. The sites are not too close to each other so if you go on a weekend you get some space away from other campers. Weekday camping does not have a lot of other campers so you can get the place to yourself.

Favorite camp spot

I go at least once a year up to this. Depending on how high the river is there are anywhere from 2 to 10 hot pools to soak in and it is the most beautiful views. Please pack trash out with you and if you see others trash help out and pick it up to keep it beautiful.

Pine flats camp ground

Beautiful camp ground right next to the river. And a hotsprings within yards of the camp ground. Near the road, however I've never experienced a full camp!
