A world-class disc golf course provides players with one of the most challenging courses in Idaho. A scenic picnic area surrounds Register Rock, where emigrant names are inscribed, creating a desert oasis for the modern traveler. Remnants of the Oregon Trail are seen easily from either end of the park.
The quiet Pocatello KOA is surrounded by mountains - perfect for skiing and snowmobiling in winter and rock climbing and hiking the rest of the year. Then soak your aching muscles in Idaho's world-famous Lava Hot Springs, only 30 minutes away. Pocatello's Ross Park features a pool and sporting activities and also hosts the Pocatello Zoo. Visit Idaho State University and the Museum of Natural History on campus. This KOA offers grassy, shaded Tent Sites with fire pits and up to 82-foot-long, extra-wide pull thrus. Or stay in a Cabin! Year-round monthly sites available, as well as propane. Relax, play horseshoes or enjoy ice cream. This is a great overnight stop on your way to Yellowstone National Park, and it's 2 1/2 hours from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Scout Mountain Campground is located on beautiful Scout Mountain at an elevation of 6,900 feet, just 13 miles south of Pocatello, Idaho. Scout Mountain is part of the Mink Creek area, a popular place for birding and wildlife viewing. Visitors enjoy exploring a variety of local multi-use trails.
Hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and dirt biking are very popular activities in the area. The paved 1-mile Scout Mountain Nature Trail loops the campground, leading to several overlooks. The East Fork Mink Creek Trail begins within the site and the Crestline Trail is nearby.
The campground contains one large group site that can accommodate up to 100 people, with picnic and serving tables, grills and a campfire ring with benches.Single sites, double sites, and one triple site are available with picnic tables, campfire rings, utility serving tables, lantern posts, and tent pads. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided.
The campground sits high atop the Bannock Mountain Range in a scenic forest of Douglas fir, lodgepole pine and aspen, which offers partial shade. Summer wildflowers are abundant. A wide variety of birds can be found in the area, including the Western Scrub-Jay, Juniper Titmouse, Bushtit, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Mountain Bluebird, Green-tailed and Spotted Towhees and Calliope Hummingbirds.
Cherry Springs Nature Area is less than 6 miles from the campground, with its pretty namesake spring, a stream for fishing, paved self-guided nature trails and picnic facilities. Mink Creek Nordic Center is about 5 miles away, with hiking and horseback riding trails in summer months and groomed cross-country ski trails in the winter.

Camping on public lands away from developed recreation facilities is referred to as dispersed camping. Most of the remainder of public lands are open to dispersed camping, as long as it does not conflict with other authorized uses or in areas posted "closed to camping," or in some way adversely affects wildlife species or natural resources.
Dispersed camping is allowed on public land for a period not to exceed 14 days within a 28 consecutive day period. The 28 day period begins when a camper initially occupies a specific location on public lands. The 14 day limit may be reached either through a number of separate visits or through 14 days of continuous overnight occupation during the 28 day period. After the 14th day of occupation, the camper must move outside of a 25 mile radius of the previous location until the 29th day since the initial occupation. The purpose of this special rule is to prevent damage to sensitive resources caused by continual use of any particular areas. In addition, campers must not leave any personal property unattended for more than 10 days (12 months in Alaska).
The Blackrock Canyon is associated with the Chinese Peak – Blackrock Rock Trail System, providing non-motorized and motorized users over 40 miles of trails to utilize for OHV, equestrian, mountain biking and hiking. This site is equipped with sheltered picnic tables, fire rings, vaulted restrooms and 2 trailhead parking lots. Additionally, there is an ATV loading/unloading ramp at the lower lot.
Site and trail rules and regulations are posted at the trailheads. The site is closed to shooting year around.
Batise Springs RV Park is located just off Interstate 86, two miles west of Pocatello, Idaho. Overlooking the Portneuf River and Batise Springs, our RV park offers a quiet, secluded place to park your RV for the night or the week. Bordered by farm ground and a great riparian zone prime for bird watching, you're sure to enjoy your stay!
All of our 18' x 75' sites are pull-through and will accommodate any size motor home or trailer.
Each site has 110V / 30A and 220V / 50A hook-ups with water and sewer. We do not offer reduced rates for dry camping.
Our newly-constructed common area building houses men's and women's bathrooms, a tiled shower and coin-op laundry.

Mink Creek Group Site Campground is located just 12 miles south of Pocatello, Idaho, along the Bannock Highway. The Mink Creek area is a popular area for birding and wildlife viewing, with many miles of multi-use trails waiting to be explored.
The West Fork Mink Creek Trail begins just outside the campground and is popular with hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. Additional trails including Corral Creek Trail and Valve House Trail are in the vicinity.
The campground offers one large accessible group site that can accommodate up to 200 people. The site contains a 40x80-foot picnic pavilion with concrete base, large paved parking area, 12 large picnic tables, two serving tables and a large fire ring, two accessible vault toilets and four potable water hydrants. The pavilion has two electrical outlets and night lighting. The road to the campground is paved, allowing easy access for RVs and cars. Security is provided by a locked entrance gate, area campground hosts and periodic county sheriff patrols. Mink Creek Group Area is popular for outdoor weddings; if you plan to move any site furniture please call the District Office for approval at (208) 236-7500. Remember that site check-in time is 2:00 pm on the day of your reservation and check-out time is noon of the following day. Firewood is not provided and is not available on site for gathering. Garbage service is not provided.

Lava Hot Springs East KOA is now a year round mini vacation destination. We offer a variety of newly renovated RV patio sites, and deluxe cabins with gorgeous views of the river and countryside. Enjoy clean shower facilities located at the office, and at the east bath house/laundromat. The pavilion is a wonderful place for families to gather and eat. Pavilion amenities: gas stovetop/oven, gas bbq, sink and seating for approximately 50 people. The pavilion does not have a refrigerator. The office staff will be happy to instruct guests for extra parking while renting the pavilion. All of our RV and tent sites have fire pits, picnic tables, or tables and chairs.
