**Liberty Glen campground is currently closed for maintenance until further notice.**

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates Liberty Glen drive-in campground at Lake Sonoma on a reservations only basis. Reservations for standard sites and the camping cabin can be made the day of arrival and up to six months in advance through Recreation.gov website or by phone at:  1-877-444-6777. Reservations for the group sites can be made up to 12 months in advance.

For security reasons, the campground gates will remain locked, with the combination only being issued through the reservation service to registered campers. Park volunteers will staff the campground, allowing visitors to examine the facilities as staffing allows.

This is to ensure our visitors with the highest quality recreation experience while allowing the park rangers to focus on public safety.

The park will continue to honor the Federal “American the Beautiful” senior and access passes with discounted fees.

There will be no fee increase for boat launches.

First come, first served camping will remain available at the Lake Sonoma Marina. For further information call the marina at (707) 433-2200.

Liberty Glen Campground has 96 campsites for RV's and tent campers; however, no electrical or water hook-ups are available. Campsite amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, and lantern holders.  Firewood is available for sale from the camp hosts. Trail users have easy access to the lake's trail system. Universally accessible campsites are available for the disabled. Restrooms, showers, and potable water are available in select areas of Liberty Glen campground. The dump station is open for service.

Individual campsites are $25, double sites are $50 and the group sites are $100 nightly.  Also available is a camping cabin that sleeps six at $70 and an equestrian group camp (dry camp) at $50

## Overview

Bushay Recreation Area is situated on Lake Mendocino in California's Mendocino Range, where redwood forests meet wine country. The access road to Bushay Campground is subject to high water levels. For this reason the campground is often closed during the rainy months. If high water levels continue into the late spring and early summer months, reservations may be cancelled by Lake Mendocino staff with a full refund. Every effort will be made to provide advance notice in the event of cancellations.  
The lake is formed by the Coyote Dam on the Russian River. A wide variety of recreational opportunities is available, including boating, swimming, water skiing, fishing, hiking and horseback riding.

## Recreation

The 1,822-acre lake provides abundant boating, swimming and water skiing opportunities. Anglers will find sunfish, smallmouth bass, striped bass, crappie, white and channel catfish, bluegill and perch.  
  
Several miles of trails wind around Lake Mendocino, including the 7-mile Kaweyo Trail, which is open to hiking and horseback riding. This trail winds from the lake to the dam, providing excellent views of the lake and wildlife in the area.

## Facilities

This large, year-round campground offers more than 100 family sites, many of which overlook the lake. Three group sites are also available.   
  
The Mesa Day-Use Area is within the campground and offers a group picnic shelter with electric hookups. Family picnic shelters are also located here, complete with tables and grills.  
  
Amenities include flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station and playground. A horse staging area is located in the campground near the Kaweyo Trailhead.

## Natural Features

Lake Mendocino lies in the scenic rolling hills of Coyote Valley. Groves of oak mixed with manzanita and pines forest the area, offering limited shade and an excellent bird and wildlife habitat. 

## Nearby Attractions

The charming city of Ukiah, less than 15 minutes away, offers a variety of shopping and dining opportunities, museums and golf courses. The Ukiah Farmer's Market runs Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings throughout the summer, offering fresh produce, local wines, arts and crafts and live music.

This is the only campground with lakeside sites. Located in between the waters of Clear Lake and Kelsey Slough, these 65 sites offer easy access to trails and fishing with partial shade. Each site has a fire ring, a table, and a food storage box. Nearby restroom facilities offer pay showers and flushable toilets.
