Works for what it is

We Stayed here while doing some contract work in the area January- April 2021. Some of the sites are a a lil different with their arrangements. Smaller sites with only 30amp services. Some have full hookups.... most dont. an no dump station in the park.

Not impressed

The campsites are cramped on one another with very little space for privacy, even though our site is fairly big in comparison to some others nearby. Old school restrooms. You don’t really get the value for your money (we paid $48 for a night, that includes $8 reservation fee and a $2 dog fee). Not…

Not very busy

We were on the way to the KOA across the creek, and saw this place. You can reserve and pay online, but they charged $8 transaction fee. No cash/checks accepted. Quiet overnight, but the road is right there for the am traffic. Level spots, paved, full hookups avail. Quirky aviary on the park.

A welcome rest area

Rolling open meadow with sweeping views of sunrise and sunset. Two picnic tables and nice shady trees. No water nearby. A good place to rest before tackling the next stretch of Potrero Seco Rd which has great views but punishingly steep pitches as it follows the crest line until reaching Monte…

Good T-Mobile Signal

Small campground, great for stargazing. As of 08/23/21, there are no potable water available. There are vault toilets available on site that's pretty descent w/ toilet paper provided.

The deduction is due to SO MANY FLIES! I have bug screens installed in the van and it could literally break…

Great place for the night

Took a chance and found a spot last minute, right on the water. It was on gravel without shade but it didn't really matter because we were just crashing for the night. Beautiful, warm summer night, very friendly staff. People do like their jet skis there so if that bothers you then maybe find…

No swimming, no kayaking, no fun

Came here expecting to have camping fun on the lake — no such luck. Swimming only allowed at their “swimming beach” and only while life guard on duty. And to use my inflatable kayak, I have to use their boat launch and pay a $9.00 fee. Honestly, I’m so miffed at this no fun allowed rent begging…

Nice

Pulled in late. We couldn’t see much but the stars were beautiful. It was by the road but not to many cars came by. In the morning we saw the lake and it was so pretty with the sun gleaming off of the water. The bathrooms were gross in both the boys and the girls. There was a pit toilet though.…

STOKED to Find This Spot

On my way into Sequoia NF I was so excited to see Hanning Flats dispersed camping area. My pup and I stayed for three nights and didn’t see another person or vehicle the whole time. So peaceful, quiet, sunny, green. My dog did get lots of ticks and we had a mouse find its way into the van but I…

Such a Pleasant Surprise

I stayed at Kenney Grove Park on my way from Vegas to Santa Barbara, and again on my way back. I believe it was $23 for a dry camping spot, plus another $2/night for having my dog along. It was a lovely, quiet park that I was surprised to find tucked away in Fillmore. On the Saturday night that I…

Good location - Needs updates

At first we were a bit disappointed but overall it turned out to be a good location for going to the Trail of 100 Giants and the Kern River. The WiFi didn’t work and the bathroom only had two showers. It needs to be updated but it was clean and the people were nice.

Small but peaceful

Ok, so first off driving into this place feels a little "Texas Chainsaw" but don't worry, its fine. When I saw regional park I was expecting something way bigger however this is about the size of a small city park that turned its parking lot into a campground. None the less, we had a very pleasant…

Nice getaway

The campsite is really nice if you looking to get away from big crowds. You have to get there early if you want to get a shaded site. Working toilets were a plus and you have room to work with when setting up your gear. The lake or river you do need to drive too which is the only negative remark I…
