Nice location, iffy neighbors

The actual campground was pretty and had lots of sites that were fairly secluded. However, when we were there, there were quite a few campers that appeared to be transients, with broken tents and clothing strewn throughout the trees. I don’t know if this is typical of this area or not, but…

Amazing Staff

I haven't stayed here as of now, however the person I talked to on the phone was amazingly helpful. My husband is a traveling nurse and we are looking for a spot to stay during his next contract in Albuquerque NM. When we took the contract we had no idea about the balloon festival that happens…

There's nothing to dislike here. But if you find something, let them know, and they'll fix it. ☺ I'm in the camping area 🏕. There are many people who frequent this area. Returning over and over again. Plenty of children, dogs, and the usual traveler. I've seen business men with laptops, who are…

Good for short stay

Not many options in this area. I stopped here since it was on the way. The lady was helpful and gave me shower tokens included with the cost which was 22. The sites are not super private, some less than others. I found a decent spot, even though I arrived In the evening time. There are dogs that…

This is not a campsite

This is a cul de sac in a residential neighborhood. Not recommended for dispersed camping

Primitive camping

We camped here recently .We followed the road to the end of FS 542 .The road is a little washed out once you get to the end of the paved road and make a left . I didn’t make it all the way to the “primitive “ canpsite as my car bottomed out but there was room for a car and a tent at the junction .

Nice RV resort

We normally don't choose RV resorts but as RV resorts go this one is nice. There are large trees in the campground providing shade and a small grassy area between campsites. Level concrete sites with picnic tables at each site. Nice, clean laundry room and bathrooms. Unfortunately, the pool was not…

1.5 Hrs from Albuquerque - Nice spot!

We often camp here when we just need a quick getaway from the city. It is well maintained (4 picnic tables, 4 fire pits, 1 vaulted toilet, 2 sets of bear proof trash cans, and 3 horse corrals) and usage is fairly light - except in the Fall (the trees put on quite a show). The road in/out is NO JOKE…

FS ROAD 542 Dispersed Camping

This was a great campsite! Dispersed and secluded. Between Tijeras and Albuquerque. In the Cibola National Forest. When you turn into Juan Tomas (FS 542) Rd - be sure to go straight down nearly to the very end of the road. You’ll see signs marking campsites (refer to photos). Sites were large with…

I really enjoyed this spot. I was driving cross-country and this campsite was the perfect place to bed down for the night. It’s at the foothills of the eastern side of the Sandia Mountains and makes for some amazing views.

Sweet little spot

We got there during night check in but went in to talk with the camp host in the morning. She was very sweet and kind! The bathrooms are being remodeled and are so pretty! Best showers ever! The tent sites were small but nice for a night. However it was bright with a light right outside the tent.

Very nice staff

I'm an EV driver and was my first time spending the night in an RV park. With the right adapter was able to easily hook up. Very nice staff.

Handicap accessible?

Although they’ve tried to make handicap accessibility adaptations the main office is completely inaccessible. The women’s restroom has a large lip on the entry door and the handicap restroom is still fairly narrow and anybody with a wheelchair will have difficulties. None of the shower stalls are…

Great location

Excellent for a my stop into Albuquerque to see the Sandia Mountains (the view from the top of the tram is better than the view from the top of the road up, by the way - if you are hiking, you’ll see both; If not, maybe that will affect your decision on how to go up) and Petroglyph National…

Amazing space, with a brewery next door!

This place is amazing! The service was fantastic and the brewery—that you can walk to (!)—had amazing food, beer, and a front yard full of games! We will definitely be back here for a stay if we are ever close again!
