Baylor Canyon - Organ Mountains Basecamp

Rocky access roads lead to scattered camping spots positioned directly beneath the Organ Mountains on Bureau of Land Management property. Christopher P. notes the bumpy, rocky road requires all-terrain tires and some vehicle clearance, though clear pullouts accommodate both RVs and smaller rigs. The area sees regular use from day visitors and overnight campers.

Dispersed camping allows campfires and pets, with cell service available in most spots. Several other Baylor Canyon Rd Spur, BLM, Free camping areas sit within walking distance for those wanting alternatives. The location works well for campers comfortable with primitive conditions and rough road access.

Scenic, somewhat rough road

At the foot of the Organ mountains. BLM bumpy rocky road with clear pullouts for camping and day use. Highly recommend AT tires with some clearance. Fairly busy area.

Nice view of the mountains

I showed up here with my travel trailer, I think it was a good place to park and enjoy the view and night time breeze.
