Pleasant surprise

So far I have appreciated a very clean campground and facilities. The street is very wide, so big rigs have no trouble backing in or leaving. Rockhounding is a real outdoor activity here. Sites all appear level at the trailer axle. Sites are well spaced.

Great view of the valley

A lovely campsite on the side of the Florida mountains, naturally, landscaped by desert flora, overlooking the chihuahuan desert. I loved that the campsites were on different elevations, and surrounded by desert plants. Each site had a picnic table on a concrete pad with a shelter, fire ring with grill and trash bin. Parking was on gravel. Even the gravel had collectible stones! Hot showers, and flush toilet and water available. There is one advertised fully ADA accessible site. If you want to stay here, you should make reservations well in advance. We were lucky and able to get a last minute cancellation spot day of. Do not miss a visit to the Geolapidary Store and Museum in the Adobe building with all the solar panels about a half mile down the road from the campground entrance. Fair T-Mobile coverage. Groceries and gas in Deming less than 30 minutes away. Non-Electric and full service sites available.

Great place here and also around here for the rockhound. Clean bathhouse, nice sites, extremely good views. Also went to Deming to Trina's Rock shop for her expertise on where to go rockhunting. Namely just North of Deming to flourite mine area. Be sure to get reservation before coming to Rockhound SP.

One of the best State Parks!

Absolutely stunning views and huge RV spots! We stayed 1 night in spot 27. It’s a massive pull through and pretty level. We stayed 2 nights in spot 14 and you can’t beat the view. Bring your e-bike because getting around is pretty steep.

Rockhounding campground perfection

This campground it tucked right up against the Florida mountains. It is clean and quiet.

Every site is level, and graveled. They all have trash cans, picnic tables under shelter, fire rings and grills. Electrical hookups and water.

The sites are HUGE! We came with friends and we both stayed in the same site with our camper and travel trailer. Although only one can use the electricity and water. It was only $10 for the extra camper.

Clean bathrooms and showers. The host was helpful and was attentive.

It does say you can collect 15 pounds of rocks but we were told only 5 rocks per visitors. There all sorts of trails for visitors to walk and collect.

The visitors center is close and the staff was helpful.

You CAN NOT just show up here to camp. You have to have a reservation, we arrived to rock hound and decided just to look and there were 3 sites available so we booked and stayed, this was the end of October. Really glad we did this is one of the best campgrounds I have been to.

Cell coverage was great, dog are welcomed and the night sky was unbelievable.

Be sure to drive the 15 minutes to the Adobe Deli, food was phenomenal and the buildings are worth checking out.

If you like camping and rocks you need to check this place out!

Very good option stopover through southern NM outside of Deming

Nice quiet, safe, park outside of Deming. There are electric sites but none available for us so stayed at dry-camp site. There are many nice large fairly level sites and a new bathroom/shower bldg. that was clean, well-kept. Staff was helpful and friendly. Handicapped sites available. Probably the most wild prickly paer cactus we've seen on mountainside. Park Spring Creek day-use park within about a mile drive further down and up steep dirt road. Nice vistas. Cell service.

Great State Park

This is the second time we have spent a night here. The park is just a little out of town but upon a hill with amazing views. The campsites are mostly level and have water and electric and the showers and bathrooms were quite clean. Nice hiking in the area. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop where there’s some interesting information about the history of the area. All the camp hosts we’ve come in contact have been super friendly. you do have to make reservations online through reserve America. Very popular place in the fall and winter.

Nice Place

Another really nice place in New Mexico. Near enough to the freeway, but far enough to not notice it. Near enough to town for a quick bite out or supplies, but far enough to not be bothered by it. Quiet and peaceful with good trails for walking the dogs.

Facilities: Hot water, free showers, flush toilets, soap, dump station, not much more you need

Cell Service: Good enough Verizon and T-mobile to work remotely

Starlink: While we didn't need to use it, all sites are open to the sky if you needed to

Solar: All sites are open to the sky for good solar

RSP is a nice state park. It’s quiet, the area is clean, and the hosts were great. If I were to do it again I would stay at a non electric site. They are closer to the mountains and more separated. For me the electric sites are too close with not enough screening between them.

Spent the day at White Sands National Park dune sledding. Needing to make a loop back home(WA state)and finding a place to shower, this checked all the boxes. Also, the camp host Robert is super helpful. We now refer to him as Grandpa Robert.

We only topped for one night on our way to Arizona, and we were so surprised at how beautiful this place is! Views of the mountains surrounding the campgrounds, lots of beautiful native plants. The grounds are well kept and landscaped so you can stay on the path and avoid the rattlesnakes. The campground hosts were very sweet, friendly, and helpful. We will definitely come back here.

This park has lovely little walking paths throughout and hiking trails for rock gathering. There are rattlesnakes in the area, though we didn’t see any and were told they don’t show up much in the campground. The park hosts were lovely, and the group campsite looked awesome!
