We had a great stay! Just a few campsites and only two other people. we drove in with our van. Even though you can see the highway it was completely quiet. Beautiful view and sunset. No restrooms or showers and please clean up your mess after you!
Plenty of space to set up camp. One other RV Trailer with a family near me. Gorgeous for a desert.
Only downside is that a few times someone kept driving through to “off-road” blasting music. But stopped well before time to sleep.
Would come again.

We live in Carlsbad so it’s a 20 minute drive and beautiful camp ground, with that said our state has never opened it up since Covid, it’s politics so vote wisely!
Arrived and had the whole camground to ourselves. Google will not give you the correct directions and this app is actually showing the incorrect spot. Off the 180 you will need to turn onto Washington Ranch road, then turn right on the first dirt road.
You probably won’t see any other campers. Very primitive campsites. At night we could hear the coyotes.
Open acre or so of flat Rocky area with a fence around the property. Plenty of room for 20 or more RVs. Close to Carlsbad caverns national park.
The tent sites are clustered together near the vault toilet (smelly) and they are all walk in sites. Only tents are allowed in this area. The RV parking lot is by flush toilets and sink area. No tents are allowed. The flies were terrible! It is really hot right now and shade is limited.
This is basically just a big rocky lot. Perfect for one night in our truck bed camper. Some highway noise, but not offensive. No toilet, flat dessert for miles - so you have to be less than shy 😉
This campsite is super easy to find seeing that it’s right off the mile 10 marker. Literally just flat ground, no amenities of course, but good proximity to Carlsbad Caverns NP. Perfect for one night, pack out your trash!
You cannot access this campground from National Parks rd. 62 , like the GPS thinks you can!
Didn't actually camp their because we couldn't make it to the camp grounds
When we pulled in we were the 2nd rv there. The lot is huge so we spread out. By the morning 3 more people arrived without any crowding issues. The surrounding area is sparse and beautiful. Be careful of wildlife, though!
Literally a big square of rocks in a desert but the stars made it worth it.
Very cute place, has spots for tents and just rv or car camping. Everyone is respectful of others out there and there is one vault toliet that is pretty clean. Would visit again if i were passing through!
We found the place empty so we took a scenic corner. Big trash dumpster on the gravel.
Great small (free) campground very close to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Surprised at how well-kept it was and the restroom is very clean. There are about 5/6 RV/campervan spots and equal tent spots, each with a picnic table under a canopy, a BBQ and fire ring. There were 3 cars parked at the…
