Busy

Newman creek is prettier than it looks in the pictures with good shade but it is very busy. The camp site 14 was right next to the boat launch and “beach” which is used as a day access site. Be prepared to be making friends!

What. A. Spot.

This spot was PERFECT. Everything you need: waterfront view, fire ring, picnic table, vault toilet & amazing cell service. The sunsets were beautiful, the water was clean and it was so peaceful during the week. Weekends get PACKED. There are 3 loops to this dispersed camping. I recommend loop…

Good place for kids

Met a group of friends here for two nights in early June. Nice, but small campground with about 10 or so sites. Some are not well situated for parking a camper, but it didn’t seem to crowded and we had our choice of spots early evening on a Friday. Nice creek through campground with small pools and…

Pretty but overgrown

Beautiful little campground with a creek running through. About 10 sites. The campground is large enough for small trailers. Some sites are not terribly level and they were all quite overgrown with flowers and weeds. One vault toilet. Definitely bear country and be very cautious about ticks. Make…

Small but works!

Stayed for a night and it was pleasant. 3/4 of the spots were taken yet it was still quiet. There’s 3 vault toilets. There’s a day area then an overnight area. All spots are in a loop so you just park next to the spot you want. No trash, water or electric. It’s free and has a picnic table and fire…

It’s okay . . .

Granted, It’ a busy weekend. The facility is full with campers and with boaters. Some sections of the of the facility have the campers parked willy-nilly. Other areas are filled with “nice” camp sites. It’s busy, crowded, but. . . ok.

Don’t do it

This campsite was gorgeous. The lake was beautiful, it was secluded and private. Had a fire pit and picnic table. That being said, hundreds of bugs started swarming our van the second we pulled onto the road to get in. Then we got out to take a walk and even more started swarming us and latching…

Confederate Dispersed Camping

Canyon Ferry has great dispersed camping all around it. The specific site we stayed at was right next to the beach. Great views and right down from a pit toilet.

Cows!!

There were some of the cutest cows on the way in. It took me over half an hour to locate the owner and get a calf's head unstuck. The water was pretty and my dogs loved all the beach wood. My neighbors were friendly and didn't mind the dogs running around.

Dispersed Camping on Canon Ferry Lake

Gorgeous spot! Free dispersed camping, first come basis, 14 day stay limit. Lots of spots to choose from in the area. Beautiful vies of Canyon Ferry Lake. Most spots have a picnic table and a camp fire ring. Some spots are close to each other so in the summer I bet it’s packed. The lakes beach is…

Sunsets for the books

Absolutely gorgeous spot. Lots of privacy, picnic tables and firepits. Our neighbor went out on the water with his boat every day to fish from sun up to sun down. Noise is super minimal and only about ~4 spots were taken while we were there on a weekend.

Very quaint

Nice little campground with fire pits and picnic tables. There is one pull through spot near the bathrooms and the rest are pullouts along the loop (about 6 spots total). We fit fine in a 30’ travel trailer, but we did have to get creative and make sure we parked over enough because we have…

RV disperse camping on Canyon Ferry Lake

You almost don't realize that this area open to camping and would drive right by if it were not for a plywood sign just after crossing a cattle guard. The plywood has just a few signs on it, one listing the number of nights you can camp for. The others are the camping rules, travel restrictions and…

Convenient little gem

Right off the road but feels pretty tucked away. Shared the camp with 3 small RVs but everyone had plenty of space. The are has been cleared of timber and there was plenty of wood laying around. Sites are nice with solid tables and fire pits. Two vault toilets as well. Beautiful creek flows through…
