BLM land along the Yellowstone River corridor near Pompeys Pillar provides the setting for this dispersed campground, where open ground and several fire rings give drive-in campers room to spread out. The access road is manageable when dry but can become difficult in wet conditions, so timing matters. Views take in the river and surrounding badlands terrain. Anglers, paddlers, and hikers all have activity options on-site. Buffalo Creek Road BLM Dispersed near Custer sits just down the road for campers who want a comparable alternative.

Great for one night but not much else to do except camp

Fairly easy to get to off of the highway and near a National Monument which is worth visiting but definitely pack it in and pack it out with no water or Garbage or toilet and a couple of fire Rings which probably aren't officially sanctioned. One other trailer here but no vehicle so guessing this place is seldom used during the week

Sitenear the river about 200 yards in on the right

Plenty of open area to park with some fire rings. Great views of the river or badlands area. Road is pretty easy to get down when dry but may be difficult when wet.
