Clean, quiet, small, tight sites

Nice area, shade and trees.  Friendly, helpful host.  Camp sites very, very close together.  Walk out camper door into next sites plug ins and sewer hose.  Very limited space between campers.  No picnic tables or firepits.

Great park and educational

Park is a nice area to relax with numerous walking trails. Fishing opportunities, FWP fish hatchery and one of the shortest rivers in the world (water coming up from Gaint Springs, feeding the river, comes undergrounds from 50+ miles away in the Big Belt mountains).

Tent Camping

The host here is great, and the local area is great. But if you are tent camping, beware. There is not really a good tent camping spot, as the sprinkler system will start every few hours and basically ruin your stay.

Nice spot for a quick overnight

This is the best of several boondocking options around the Fresno Reservoir. We were the only ones here on a weeknight (right before the 4th of July). There are several choices, including some with shade under the cottonwood trees you so often find near rivers. There’s also a flat concrete pad that…

Pricey but nice

BIG campground and therefore has traffic / people noise, but otherwise quiet (not near a highway or trains, etc). Sites are small and close together and not much screening, but are tidy and fairly level. Nice play area for kids. Bathrooms are really nice and clean, and are a shower-toilet combo.…

Don’t stay in the campground!

The campground is okay, but the disbursed spots along the river are awesome! Some of the best spots you can find!

Surprising oasis

In an area of mostly open fields, this KOA is filled with nice trees. It is a very large campground with RV sites, cabins, and tent sites. This is a very kid friendly campground, almost too much. Twice within an hour a train full of kids rolled by my site shouting. There is a large playground,…

Needs some work

This campground is okay however it needs some maintenance. It’s seems like several of the sites need to be cleaned up and re-leveled. They were working on the volleyball site when we visited so maybe they are in the middle of renovations? The cabins in the back had some nice views and for the most…

Clean and Efficient

We stayed one night here. It is a nice campground in an urban area. It seemed that it needed a little landscape maintenance and was a bit dusty. Most everything was shut down for the season which is something to keep in mind if you visit in the fall.

Family friendly park

This place has amazing view with some awesome walking trails. There is also a salmon feeding station which can be fun to see. In. The winter this place provides some really nice sledding experiences. One of the coolest things here is the WORLD’S SMALLEST RIVER! Called the Roe River at 201 feet

City Camping Tucked Away

You have to drive through part of Great Falls, Montana to get to this campground, but once you are in it, you forget all about the city. You get the full camping (in a campground) experience, but you can easily drive into the city to pick up whatever you forgot to pack.

Our site was in what they…

Military Famcamp

This is a military campground. It does have hookups and is very nice and quiet. The campground or the host cannot really be held responsible for mosquitos and wind. Its always windy in Great Falls. But the amenities like commissary, BX, Movie Theatre and Bowling Alley are very close and Outdoor Rec…

An adequate campground on a Montana Air Force Base

The campground is located on the far corner of this small Air Force Base. The back-in site we occupied had W, E, S hook-ups and was fairly level though narrow. The camp host was friendly and accommodating. That is where the goodness ended. The mosquitos were incredibly bad. Visibility was less than…

so much fun!

KOA has everything you need. An outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, tent, cabin and rv spots.Outside kitchens. Shower area, small store, playground, and wifi. A lot of room to move around and have fun. You can even winter camp. We really enjoyed camping there and our day trips with the cub scouts.
