Overpriced

We stayed here at me night to be close to Bozeman. That was the only redeeming quality. They did have laundry. They also had a very loud train every so many minutes. We looked out on the car dealership next door. The site wasn’t level. It was 77 per night. The was a man sleeping in his car next to our site.

Ok for overnight stay

This is a Good Sam Campground.

Ok for an overnight stop 1 hour away from the North entrance of Yellowstone. There was no parking for the laundry/bath house & I forgot my code so I couldn’t get in to check it out.

Right beside I90 & the railroad so noisy all night. I sleep with the fan on & noise machine so didn’t bother me. Not much room on sites either, but again the location was the only reason we picked here. WiFi wasn’t working either with little cell reception. We were greeted by an alien at the picnic table so we had that going for us. 😁

Nice Friendly Staff but Bad Location

As with the rest of the reviews, I liked the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. But it is rough to sleep here in a truck tent with the highway and train noise. Also, the bathrooms and laundry services are quite outdated, but were still a welcome sight after being in the woods for 4 days.

Clean and well kept, but noisy

Campground was clean and well kept.  Staff was very nice and helpful.  Camp spots are close together and a little tight, not a lot of room for parking extra vehicles.  Easy to get to but it is right between the interstate and train tracks, so a bit noisy.

Enjoyed my stay but...

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, the campground staff was extremely accommodating when I had to change my dates of stay and were very friendly. The wifi was ok, bathrooms were clean, and the sites were level. However, the bathrooms were very outdated, the laundry room was in need of repair, there was a great deal of construction at the campground. There is also a train that passes very near the campground and can be heard at all hours of the day and night. It never woke me up but I can certainly see it being a problem. There is also a lot of highway noise, easy freeway access means large truck noise. I think part of why I enjoyed my stay was the time of year. It wasn't too busy. My last night there, I had a very large camper pull in so close there was barely 2 ft from my front door to their slide out. Again, while I enjoyed my stay very much, it may not be right for everyone.

Wouldn’t reccomend in September

I really hated my time here. I gave 2 stars because the people are nice and the site and facilities are generally well kept. Maybe my problems were largely seasonal, I stayed in mid September. First of all the tent sites are very close to a highway which is busy with big rigs and traffic all night, there is also a train that goes off as it nears. While I was here next door was also construction that had vehicles beeping early in the morning. Sleeping here was rough, I woke up from noise at all hours. The other main issue for me was the bugs. They were on EVERYTHING (pictured), again, maybe a seasonal issue. The tent sites are also under these trees that drop sticky leaves all over the site and leave a sticky residue all over your car and tent. RV camping here is probably much better because it's quieter and not so close to the road. I would recommend, at least in this season, spending a little more and going to the hot springs campground.

Base camp

Stayed here while attending a music camp in Bozeman. The owners were super nice. Easy drive into Bozeman and to nearby trails. Shade. Showers and pretty quiet. Quite a few long term stayers. Cheaper than any motel and nice to have your own camper while doing stuff in town.

Comfort, Shade

As of April of 2020, the name has changed from Sunrise Campground to Bozeman Trail Campground (bozemantrailcampground.com). Although bordered on two sides by busy roads, this is a compact, friendly and tall-tree lined break spot. Low key and welcoming, plus it's by both trail/open spaces (like the Drinking Horse and Sourdough trails) and nearby shopping and travel fill-up locations.  $30-35 for tent sites, which are in more open space and close to the freeway.
