Needs some work

This campground is okay however it needs some maintenance. It’s seems like several of the sites need to be cleaned up and re-leveled. They were working on the volleyball site when we visited so maybe they are in the middle of renovations? The cabins in the back had some nice views and for the most part the sites were shaded. I was glad my site was near the office/shower house/laundry due to the fact the WiFi worked only in that immediate area. Big park, nature trail out the back that was interesting and some animals like in the old style KOA’s. I really liked the tent area and shelters on the far side, they looked brand new and the camp kitchen was nice. Good base camp for the area.

Close to Memorial Falls

This campground was close to Memorial Falls which we wanted to hike the next day. The setting is wooded and right off scenic Highway 89. The fee for our site #6 was $5 plus $5 for extra vehicle. We were able to fit a small SUV and our pop up truck camper. There were only 6 sites here and we were the only ones here in midweek in late September 2020. There was a clean vault toilet, picnic table and barbecue stand. Simple basic campground near activities.

Clean and Efficient

We stayed one night here. It is a nice campground in an urban area. It seemed that it needed a little landscape maintenance and was a bit dusty. Most everything was shut down for the season which is something to keep in mind if you visit in the fall.

Hidden gem! Great escape and so close to Great Falls.

We were shocked this campground wasn’t full, it’s only an hour from Great Falls and the road is your typical gravel, a few larger potholes but completely doable in any car (or towing). Lots of shaded spots (available on a Friday and Saturday night in mid-August!), super clean facilities, and a very helpful camp host. The partiers stay down below on the road so it was super quiet and had some nice wildlife in the area. We did the Windy Mountain loop, so it was a treat to finish the hike and be back at our campsite 100 yards from the end! Highly recommend for campers looking for an easy, quiet escape.

Camping near the Sluice Boxes

This campground is great if you are planning on hiking the sluice boxes the next day. Very quiet campground other than the occasional traffic sounds from the round. The creek does a good job worth background noise. The campsites are a little small but not terrible.

Nice area, no shade

Nice area, refreshing swim.. Could be more shade. Limited fire pits but lots of space. Free for Montana residents!

Little campground in Little Belt

We arrived in the middle of the night but were delighted to find a small, virtually empty campground. The camp spots were nice, with a metal fire pit and concrete picnic table. We set up camp and fell asleep under the light of a million stars. The star gazing is great here because it’s right in the middle of the Little Bely mountains so there is no light pollution. The campground is right off of the scenic byway so there was some traffic noise but nothing too bothersome.

There is a composting toilet available and a well with drinkable water. The park ranger stopped by in the morning to check on things. She was super talkative and friendly and even gave us some free stickers!

This is not a campground !

This is a residential mobile home / trailer park. NOT A CAMPGROUND or RV SITE for OVERNIGHT

Nice and quiet

First camp we stayed at on a week long trip to Montana. We came on a weekday, so hardly any one there.

Small riverside campground

This is a really small campground squeezed between the road and the river. The beauty of the river did not add enough to the appeal of this place for us. Sites are filling up though. Sites have decent room with taller grass around. One vault toilet is shared with camp.

We didn’t get a comfortable vibe here. Maybe it’s the busy road or small space or a long day of traveling. This was one of the only options as other campgrounds filled up quickly for the weekend.

There is ample fishing in a beautiful river. A few hiking trails are around that you can drive to. Big Timber is an easy 30ish mile drive away.
