Staying at Strawberry lookout cabin in December was a great experience, well worth the 1 mile uphill hike to the cabin. Our Venturing Crew stayed the night after pulling gear in a sled to the top in light snow. Everyone had a great time at the cabin. The cabin has a wood stove and firewood was…

Tent sites quiet, large, grassy, good views
This campsite is located in a beautiful remote area of Montana, only a short hike away from the beginning of the Missouri River. Large site. The only problem was there were many mosquitoes.
Jumping Creek campground has seen better days. This 15 site campground is with out trees so you are in clear view of everyone else at the campground. Trees have been removed. The campground has two vault toilets and water available. This is a trash in Trash out campground. Cost is $15 a…

Newlan Creek had a very nice drive into the campground, was well kept and had toilets, boat ramp, etc. Nice beach areas as well. It is hard to find a site as you have to drive through the loops of sites which have trees and some tight corners for those larger rigs. We had a great stay and enjoyed.

Nice area above shoreline with some shade trees for tents and enough flat area to pull a camper in. Good for day trips, group gatherings too.
A couple primitive pad sites with fire rings otherwise plenty of space for dispersed camping close to beach (mostly rocks/mud). Great views and good for group gatherings/fishing. Does get windy being on the east side of the lake, can watch the ice sheets pile up in late fall.
Nice campground and easy to maneuver. Lovely outdoor community space. Showers were okay. Could have used a little cleaning. Staff were very nice. Super convenient and quiet with lots of trees.
Small campground tucked away from highway. Right on shore of river/resevoir. Heavily used train tracks on opposite shore, so you get some train noise but not horrible. Bugs can get nasty with the slow water. Good fishing area.
Cozy forest service cabin, wood stove for heat. Close to highway, so there's road noise but creek and cliffs make it relaxing to sit outside. (Families with small children beware of Proximity to highway).
Big group use picnic shelter, reservations required. Nice views but not much shade other than the shelter. Have to drive around private campground to access.
Day use area is nice. Good variety of camp sites for both RV and tent, boat dock charges fees but is convenient and popular.
Nice quiet secluded area. Multiple trailheads for popular hiking trails near campground (one is in the campground). Creek nearby to cool off in the heat. Camp sites arent hug but enough space to feel comfortable.
Cabin stays cool in the summer and has wood stove for cold winters. Propane stove makes cooking easy. Creek nearby for water (or campground a few miles up road has well and spring with potable water). Lots of activities nearby rock hounding/fossils, hikes, small waterfall, swimming in creek.
Second time here and love it as much as before. Huge, open space, great views, hiking, and privacy. Stayed in our rv this time, but the cabin is spacious and well appointed. Too bad they doubled the rates. Maybe making a reservation will be easier?
