Great state park

I love how they have their sites arranged so it didn't feel like you were right on top of each other.

All the facilities were clean and the showers actually have hot and cold knobs and didn't shut off every 30 seconds (big plus on this trip)

I did have a Crawfish walk through the campsite.

Lots of gnats!!

The campground was nice. Plenty to do to keep us busy. Between the nature walk, fishing and time on the beach our days were packed. I do not recommend the “premium” tent sites. They are nothing more than a stop of grass next to a parking lot backed up to trees. The gnats were terrible, made worse…

Great location near New Orleans

Close to New Orleans after reading other reviews about the noise and how some felt unsafe we decided to take the risk and book here, glad that we did. It's close to New Orleans, the noise doesn't bother us we can't hear anything when our ac unit is running there is a gate so feels secure enough.i…

Coastal Breeze

Got a nice shady spot towards the back of the campground. Good ranger presence, regularly patrol. Hiking trail is only about a mile but leads to a nice marshy overlook. Clean bathrooms.

No need to go anywhere else

We enjoyed this camp because there was something for the whole family.  Pools, waterslides, beach, fishing... It was a really fun place to go.  There were plenty of shaded campsites.  There are usually a lot of kids going back and forth to all of the activities, especially in the summer.

Very RV orientated for a state park

Very well done and very RV orientated, Nicely spaced level sites. Decent dell service on both ATT & Verizon. Quite a hike to the beach thru mosquito infested under brush. The wholeark islevel making for easy bike riding.

A parking lot.

We stayed 4 days and it served its purpose, to visit New Orleans at a reasonable price. Don't come here thinking it's the great outdoors camping spot with plenty of activities. It's basically a gravel parking lot with hook ups. We were very close to the office and still couldn't get the wifi. The…

Wanted to love it more. Flooding issues

Have waited six months into our RV life to start reviews for fair comparisons. Stayed 2 nights in 35 foot RV+tow car at$31/night. We really wanted to like this park more than we did as it has great hiking trails, gorgeous natural setting, deer running around everywhere. But there seems to be a…

Not what we expected

Kinda dodgy part of town. Hard to get to, we had to do a u turn to get there off I-10. Tight turn to get into the park. The man was nice enough to guide us to our site and help us back in. But it’s literally a gravel parking lot that’s fenced in. The pool and hot tub, the park’s only real…

Nice small park at the end of the island

The campground is nice and well maintained. We were in site 14 for 8 days. Some of the turns, though open, were a little tight for bigger rigs, with several leaving deep tracks in the soft ground and mud. Most of the sites, though reasonably level, had fairly large low areas that tended to flood…

RV park and beach camping

Good spot for fishermen and birding, but the sites are not private at all. The electric sites are $30 a night and it’s an RV park with manicured lawns covered in tiny mammal poops and lawn trimmings and 1-2 palm trees per site. You get electric and water, but the water tastes very chlorinated.…

Overlanding across the country

I will start out by saying this was recommended by Dyrt app. I am enjoying the app and has nothing to do with that. To start this was a decent spot very close to the French Quarter, the people were very nice. I gave this 2 stars for multiple reasons. Starting about 4pm the rail yard became a…

Not great before the hurricane.

There’s quite a lot of hurricane damage, but I get the impression it wasn’t that nice before the damage occurred. There isn’t much to do unless the water park is open. The whole area is basically a swamp and the hiking trail is therefore quite wet and sloppy. Fire rings are in some sites but not…

Top notch

Stayed here 4 days with some of the best customer service and hospitality. Laundry room and outhouse is very clean and the grounds are maintained by a wonderful family that will be glad to help you with your stay in the New Orleans area.

Please be respectful to the area as it's an older area and…
