Best RV Parks & Resorts near Holly Beach, LA

Holly Beach offers several RV parks with full hookups located along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana. Pickled Pelican RV Park features level concrete pads with full hookups, covered picnic tables, and easy beach access. The sites include 50-amp service, and the park has 12 spots as close to the beach as possible. "The RV spots are all level concrete in excellent condition. There are twelve spots as close to the beach as you can get, with a covered picnic table and grill," noted one camper. Holly Beach RV Park provides back-in sites with 30-amp hookups, sewer connections and water, accommodating various sized rigs. Located just east, Cameron Louisiana RV Park offers 16 RV sites with 50-amp electric hookups, sewer, and water connections. Vinton RV Park, situated further north, features 144 concrete sites for big rigs with both 30-amp and 50-amp service.

Gulf Coast RV travelers should be aware that services are limited in the immediate Holly Beach area. The closest grocery stores, fuel, and general merchandise are located in Hackberry, approximately 20 minutes north. While many parks in the region remain open year-round, advance reservations are recommended as beach locations can fill quickly during summer months. Most parks are pet-friendly, though specific restrictions may apply. Cell service can be spotty throughout the region, with Verizon coverage described as "poor" by several reviewers. Several parks offer sanitary dump stations, with Holly Beach RV Park and Pickled Pelican both providing sewer hookups at each site. Due to the coastal location, mosquitoes can be problematic in marshy areas, particularly away from the immediate beachfront where breezes help reduce their presence.

    Holly Beach RV Park

Great RV park and a Great Beach

This review is about the Holly Beach RV park that you pay to stay at. There is free camping on the beach. but we stayed at the Holly Beach RV Park located on Mallard street

We stayed 3 nights at the Holly Beach RV Resort and we were the only one here. The park is a large concrete slab in the middle of the Holly Beach community. It has 6-8 back-in, full hook-up sites that can fit any big rig. The beach on the Gulf of Mexico is a very short walk away. Our stay was very quiet and enjoyable. There is free camping on the beach should you want to boondock on the beach. We saw very few locals due to the time of year. All of our hooks-up worked perfectly. The sites are all 50 amp so bring a 30 to 50 amp adapter. I recommend this RV park highly and would stay here again. There is no shower or bath house or laundry. Overall we really loved this place.

    Hidden Lake RV Park

    Quiet

We stayed here as an easy close spot to Ford Arena Softball Fields. Literally 3 minutes there. It's a small quiet park that has a few full-time campers. A small lake with free use of canoes and peddle boat available. A laundromat, bathroom and showers are on site; all very clean. Some of the sites are quite close with little shade. Most all have level concrete pads and full hookups. We stayed in site 30, which is a pull through large enough to accommodate big rigs.

Grand Pines of Texas RV Resort

Three Years New Campground with a Great Staff and Extra Amenities

I was surprised this campground had not been reviewed.  We stayed here in Jan '24 on the way to Houston for business.  Grand Pines is located on I-10 southeast of Beaumont TX.  Sites are all full hook-up, back-in concrete 60' x 20' leaving room for us to park our tow car. Grand Pines has high speed WIFI and free laundry facilities.  Grounds were well kept when we were there. Sites are a bit close together. They may now have more long term usage than transient. Still, it is a great stop over to catch up on domestic duties.

    Alligator Parish Park Campground

    Clean and quiet

Stayed one night in 30 ft travel trailer (May 2,2022) and we were the only campers. There were other visitors/fisherman but quiet and peaceful. Restrooms clean and spacious. Shower was separate and locked but host would unlock as needed. All 7 pads are gravel, level, elevated above grass—helpful after hard rain— and would accommodate large rigs. Lake or old river course 100 plus feet from campsites. May bring kayaks next time. Road access is good and signs to guide you. One bar cell service. Each site has sewer but not conveniently located—near entrance to site and would require very long hose or require rigs to block access road when dumping This park happened to be along our route to another campground and not along major highway. Nice place to relax overnight or for few days.

    Vinton RV Park

Easy to Access, Great for Overnight Stop or Long Term

Only $375/mo for Long Term, All Utilities Included, Free Wi-Fi and Free Laundry!

We were heading back to Texas after Spring Break and needed a quiet, easy stop for the night. Vinton RV Park ended up being a perfect fit for our family. It’s right off I-10, super easy to find and book, and felt peaceful the moment we pulled in. At first, we had looked at a few other parks online that looked a bit more“luxury” in the photos, but when we got here, we were honestly surprised—in a good way. The amenity center here is actually really nice and has more of a resort feel than some of the other places nearby. Our boys had a blast riding their bikes around the park. It’s a big property, and we felt totally comfortable letting them run around since it’s well off the main road. There's even a gate at the entrance, which adds an extra layer of peace of mind(it was open when we arrived, but I imagine it gets closed later on). All in all, it was a great family-friendly stop, and we’ll definitely keep it on our list for future trips.

Guide to Holly Beach

Holly Beach, Louisiana, sits on a stretch of Gulf Coast known locally as the "Cajun Riviera." At an elevation near sea level, the area experiences warm subtropical weather with high humidity during summer months and mild winters. RV campers should be prepared for strong coastal winds that can sometimes reach 20-30 mph, particularly during storm seasons.

What to do

Fishing access: Campers staying at Bayou Marino RV Park have convenient access to Gulf Coast fishing. The park offers 30 sites with level concrete pads, making it an excellent base for fishing trips. "Great stay big level concrete," notes camper Roger B., who appreciated the park's 24/7 live video security system.

Canoe on hidden waters: Just a short drive from Holly Beach, Hidden Lake RV Park provides free use of canoes and pedal boats on their small lake. "A small lake with free use of canoes and peddle boat available," mentions Cat R., who found the park "a small quiet park that has a few full-time campers."

Beach relaxation: Enjoy soft sand beaches near the RV parks. According to Andrea P., who stayed at Pickled Pelican, the area offers "very soft sand compared to Galveston" with beaches that are "close, clean, & quiet!" This makes for excellent swimming and sunbathing conditions when weather permits.

What campers like

Direct beach access: Many campers value having their RV parked close to the shoreline. "We were in site 8 at the end with beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico and marshland!" writes Cat R. about her experience at Pickled Pelican RV Park. The park features concrete pads with sites positioned as close to the beach as possible.

Quality hookups: RV sites at Vinton RV Park provide reliable full hookups. "The spacious concrete pads made parking easy, and the full hookups were a big plus," shares Abby F., who appreciates the well-maintained utility connections that make for hassle-free camping.

Family-oriented amenities: Little Lake Charles Resort offers facilities particularly appreciated by families. "Love the laundry mat lol is a blessing when you have kids in the pool everyday," writes Rozina G., who stayed for two months and enjoyed the pool, water slide, and water play areas that keep children entertained.

What you should know

Limited services: Grocery options are scarce in the immediate Holly Beach area. One camper at Pickled Pelican notes that "Going to Cameron requires crossing via a ferry, not always in service," which can further restrict access to supplies.

Variable site conditions: Some RV parks have inconsistent site maintenance. At Little Lake Charles Resort, one camper reported that "There are nicer sites but the back end of them are not up kept seemingly at all," indicating that site quality can vary considerably within the same park.

Weather considerations: The Gulf Coast experiences severe weather, particularly during hurricane season. Nicole C. observed that "The area was ravaged by the fall hurricanes, so almost no stores, restaurants or gas stations are to be found within 15 miles," highlighting the lasting impact storms can have on local infrastructure.

Tips for camping with families

Pool amenities: Families appreciate RV parks with swimming facilities, especially during hot months. "We enjoyed the refreshing pool and the fun rec and game rooms," reports Abby F. about Vinton RV Park, which provides welcome relief from summer heat.

Beach safety: When camping with children on Holly Beach, be aware of potential hazards. Jen H. advises, "Be careful you don't get stuck in the sand! Check before you pull out on the sand to avoid getting stuck," a practical tip for families bringing vehicles onto beach areas.

Entertainment options: Boomtown USA RV Resort offers multiple recreation options for families. "There is a pool and hot tub in the expansion as well. VERY clean grounds and a nice and updated game room and laundry facility," notes Tori K., adding that "The lake has really great fishing and there is a small swimming/beach area."

Tips from RVers

Advance preparation: RV campers should arrive fully stocked with supplies. "Get everything you need before you get here, cause once you're here you have no reason to leave, if you're here for beach," advises Nicole C., emphasizing the limited shopping options near rv sites in Holly Beach, Louisiana.

Site selection: Choose RV sites strategically based on seasonal factors. "More like a big parking lot. It had rained and it was rather flooded!" reports Cat R. about one park, suggesting that elevated sites are preferable during rainy periods.

Utility management: RV sites often have specific hookup requirements. Robert O. notes, "The sites are all 50 amp so bring a 30 to 50 amp adapter," a practical reminder for RVers to check power compatibility before arrival.

Connectivity issues: Internet access varies widely between parks. George L. observes that "WiFi is pretty much what you expect at an rv park," indicating that campers needing reliable connectivity should bring their own solutions rather than depending on campground networks.
