Wine tasting and RV camping overlap at Landry Vineyards Grape Escape, a family-run winery outside West Monroe, Louisiana where a handful of full-hookup sites sit on a hill overlooking active grape fields. The property is split by a country road, with gravel sites on one side facing the vineyard rows and the tasting room on the other. Site #3 sits on the upper level with open sightlines toward the vines, while Site #5, across from the tasting room, has been noted as level and clean with solid water and electric connections. The winery carries around 30 varieties, including blackberry merlot, petite syrah, and a chocolate raspberry port that draws repeat visitors.
The experience here leans heavily on the winery itself. Saturday events bring live music and larger crowds, and at least one visitor reported a bagpipe performance under the portico that drew a substantial audience. Randy M. appreciated the "accommodating service and beautiful view of the vineyards" after calling ahead to arrange wine and cheese delivery to the site near closing time. Campers who time their stay around a Saturday event will find a livelier atmosphere than a midweek overnight stop. The tasting room is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., though overnight stays on Sundays are permitted even when it's closed.
Access is the most consistent caution across reviews. The roads in from the highway are narrow and winding, with tight curves and an uneven surface that demands slow speeds. Larger rigs can make it, but drivers towing or piloting longer motorhomes should take the turns carefully. Wet weather adds risk, as the field sites can become muddy enough to threaten getting stuck. In those conditions, the concrete area near the tasting room may serve as an alternative parking spot. Reservations are available and recommended, with at least one day's notice suggested.
Shaun C. noted that his site had "full hookups, water, electricity, and sewer," with connections on both sides of the pad to accommodate different rig orientations. WiFi is listed as an amenity, though at least one reviewer found cell service adequate without it. Pets are welcome, and campfires are allowed. The sites are open terrain with no significant shade canopy, so summer stays in Louisiana heat are worth factoring into timing. For campers looking at other options in the region, Cheniere Lake Park provides a more traditional campground setting with water access a few miles to the east.
