BEAUTIFUL, BUT CROWDED

We stayed here knowing that it would be full. Well, it was crowded and loud! Kids riding golf carts everywhere. Still we had a nice stay at 30 dollars a night! Ice machine, picnic table, playground, hiking trails, kayaking and fire pits. Our site # 57 needed 2 blocks to level.

Even in the Rain

We have stayed here several times, but this was our first time during torrential rain fall! We stayed in site 108 in the new full hookup section. The pad was gravel, needed 2 blocks to level it. Our 30 ft camper fit,but not our truck. We had to park kind of sideways. After it rained, it was horrible at this site - red clay mud all around it! I still gave a 4 star rating because the park itself was beautiful. New pier, very clean showers and bathrooms.

Early November Camp Spot

The view was gorgeous, it dipped in temperatures to the low 40s at night. The site was clean and well maintained, lots of space, a good distance from camps around us.

Hometown favorite

This is the closest campground to where we live and it’s wonderful to just hook up a few miles away from home. There are brand new full hook ups with water and sewer that have been ideal. Also lots of relatively flat roads to bike on with family. There’s a new playground for the kids that our son especially likes to bike over to.

Nice campground

This IS NOT the Indian Creek Recreation Area located in Woodworth, LA. This campground is located in Independence, LA.

We stayed here for the weekend in Site 184. It was a great location right across from some water where you can easily put in a kayak. They also have great walking trails that shaded, maintained and easy to follow.

There are cabins that can be rented, a playground, a swimming pool and a game room for kids.

It was quite at night and during the day lots of kids riding bikes and fishing. Great family place.

This campground had a lot of what seemed liked permanent residences. They also may have been just camping sites that stayed in place. The front of the campground seemed to be where these sites are located.

Quiet

Quiet, semi private sites. We are at site 39 which has 2 access areas for kayaks, canoes, etc. The ground is pretty sloped though. There is a private beach for campers. Also a public boat launch and beach. The water looks kinda nasty, so this girl won't get in it! Very nice kayaking. Playgrounds for kids, probably loud in the summer.

Well maintained, isolated primitive camping

This is probably my favorite place to visit in Louisiana. The primitive camping sites are on little peninsulas just big enough for you and your group, so it's truly private. The lake has always been calm when I go, with maybe 1 or 2 kind and considerate boaters.
